Fallon & Byrne - People's Park

The coffee is great, but the croissants are not baked as well as they were on previous visits.

A great little restaurant/café in Dun Laoghaire situated in a beautiful well-kept park. Their breakfast was delicious and their service was top notch. I'll definitely visit again.

I visited here on Sunday 30th. August. I was not impressed by the lunch selection. As this is the only restaurant in the park they could do a lot better. When I enquired about the toilet I was pointed to a door which was two...thirds blocked by a trolly. I also found some staff rude. The girl on the checkout was nice. Won’t be going back.

4th meal here in 12 months 3 dinners, 1 lunch. Food consistently good. 3 course value menu included quail starter, venison main (melt in the mouth, perfect red cabbage accompaniment) and to-die for chocolate mousse dessert... Excellent value. Terrific pleasant and attentive service from...the same chirpy waitress as last time... Ambiance lovely with Xmas lights tad too loud at times but big party beside us to blame for that. Love this place. Will be back, soon!

Came here as a group of four. I had the chicken patty as a starter. This was great and nicely presented with bread and salad. The gravadlax was delicious. The main meals we had were the beef burger, the roasted pumpkin steak and trout. All...were excellent. We had coffees and tea plus a bottle of wine. The cost at about €150 was very reasonable. They were also good for offering gluten free options. Service was excellent and there was a nice atmosphere. I will definitely come again.

Just had dinner with a group from a conference and to say I was desperately disappointed with my meal was an understatement. I have never tried to eat a tougher piece of rib eye beef in my life. Struggled to cut it even with a...steak knife as did my several of dinner companions. But the biggest disappointment was the desert!!!! Supposedly a pavlova????? With whipped coconut cream,,,, turned out to be two small pieces of meringue swilling about in an indescribable watery sauce devoid of any such coconut cream that I could see with a piece of mashed plum which was supposed to be SPICED???. truly awful. Staff were lovely though, such a shame really.

Eating out can still be a treat even on a keto diet, as I discovered at Fallon Byrne's in the People's Park, Dun Laoghaire the Saturday before Christmas. I was meeting up with an old friend before she flew out to California for the...holidays. Fallon Byrne Restaurant proved the ideal venue,not just because of its charming location in the wonderful Victorian People's Park on Seafront. First time dining at this restaurant. A table for five was a table for 4 with a place tucked on the end so a little cramped! The restaurant is smaller than it appears in photos but is clean well presented. You can talk..., there is an ambiance but I wouldn’t describe it as atmospheric. No complaints about the food. It was nice without being exceptional- clam chowder was nice but could have been minestrone with a few clams; the rib eye steak was the best of the mains/ burgers were a bit bland as indeed were the deserts. if they happen to be someone who is freed from the mask during the Covid-19 pandemic, please avoid this caffe. as the only food outlet in the park it should be ideal to take a takeaway coffee. but they have to go in. to order. I tried to do this today, first clear that I was masked free and entered a ok of a beautiful employee. I ordered the coffee, went outside to wait, went back to collect and pay him, as no one came to me, just to know from a most hostile and rudest member of the staff, which requires to know where my mask was and why I didn't wear it.
