"The setting is great near the harbour and the building is traditional on the outside. We sat at the rustikale part of the restaurant and we asked the very friendly waiter for the typical and best plates. The eel soup was very very acidic and...left us with a strong aftertaste. The beef tartare on a fish restaurant!! was ok, however, the fried lemon sole was way far below average. Soaked in noisette butter and not crispy at all, at times it was like I was eating a fishy dessert than a proper dinner dish. I really dont know how other dishes are, because we had all the the main course, but the experiece was disappointing."

Authentically set Fischerhaus over looks the sea from an old typically built town house. The menu is vast and we had a good meal and wine. Service was good. Nothing fancy.

While we found the food very good the portions were a little small, the staff while friendly enough did not really cater to the guests. All in all not bad but I wouldn’t go out of my way to go there again.

The restaurant is of very solid appearance with much dark wood and nautical artifacts.The Waiter was very polite and the service was good. The range of fish dishes and their quality is the purpose of a visit, particularly local specialties such as Labskaus.

During our first few hours in Hamburg we set off towards the River, looking for food in this area mid after noon this establishment was able to immediately accommodate us. Looking for nothing more than something light and quick, the menu met our needs, as...did the beer. Effective warm tasty food, Herring was great, albeit a few dishes lost something in the translation. Probably our fault though !!!!

I visited this place a while ago, I was looking for a good fish place in the area and I think this place did it! Great service, yummy fish, prices are decent. Besides good food, this place is perfect for those going out for drinks,...it reminded more like a pub than a restaurant, with the difference that they serve good fish too. I can definitely recommend this place, for someone looking for social ambiance with food on the side.

This legendary restaurant is situated in the cente of Hamburg and is well known for it's fish. The food is supurb and fresh from the Atlantic. The ambience is also super and one cannot get enough of being with the locals who frequent the place....The dishes are fish and that makes the restaurant world fmous. Nobody going to Hamburg can miss a visit to the Fischerhaus. It is close to other attractions and so makes a wonderful start to an evening, or a late evening after being around Hamburg, a beautiful City with much to offer. Don't miss out.

I had late-lunch at this place last time I was in Hamburg and since I enjoyed it I went back again. The place seems to be frequented by locals who probably get a more cordial treatment – not saying others are discouraged, mind you. Just...don’t suspect English although my waiter this time was pretty good. The real reason to go is the food. I had some excellent halibut with roasted potatoes and vegetables. Quality had not declined since last visit. Price was reasonable considering the location. The restaurant is full of Hamburg atmosphere. I’m sure I’ll visit every time I’m in Hamburg.
