Nice atmosphere, great place for drinks but food was inadequate at best. Manager offered 50% off after speaking to staff.

Great food, great drinks and friendly staff with fabulous décor. Great lunch time specials menu. Looking forward to returning.

I am quite regular in galloping horse, which often appears a last minute meal. I have to say tonight, I had a ribeye steak and was absolutely fantastic and cooked for perfection. komplimenten an der koch

Very poor food quality, food was cooked from frozen and very dry. Would not recommend. In fairness manager agreed to a 50% discount but a waste of 2 hours. Our party of 9 left majority of the food on the table.

It's a lovely place that, unfortunately, is being let down by rather mediocre food. It tasted like the cheap takeaways that one can get at the supermarket and the chips were undercooked. If I just want to go out for a drink, I'd say it's a lovely place. For eating not so much.

Trip here with friends before on to a show was really good. Everybody's food looked really good and they all had complimentary things to say. I had the fish and chips and it was very nice indeed. Service was excellent with friendly and approachable staff even while clearly quite busy which was good. They easily accommodated our request and the bill was very reasonable for good food will certainly consider returning if I'm eating that way again.

I think being Father’s Day and a private function impaired the kitchen staffs ability to cope. Everything just felt warmed up rather than cooked fresh. The leek and potato soup was watery and lacked depth of flavour. I’ve had this previously and on that occasion it was thick creamy and warming. There was only one thin slice of beef on my guests plate, my turkey was not cooked through. My guests did not want the menu items and had the steak pie previously so the manager offered this as an alternative. Unfortunately the pie was apparently microwaved and was inedible. A thoroughly enjoyable Saturday lunch… We arrived at 1pm and found plenty of spaces in the car park, which was surprising for a Saturday I imagine the roadworks could have something to do with that. We were immediately given a table and a warm welcome as soon as we entered, menus were given to us straight away and the drinks order was taken quickly too. We both had a pint of coke which was nice and refreshing, the drinks came really quickly! As someone who enjoys dining out and trying new restaurants, I was extremely disappointed by my recent experience at The Galloping Horse. From the moment I walked in, I knew that this would not be a dining experience worth remembering. To start with, it was clear that the food at this establishment was not made fresh. Everything tasted as though it had been cooked from frozen, and lacked the depth of flavor and texture that comes with freshly prepared ingredients.
