"The inn is located on 1039 m in an idyllic Scharzwald landscape in Schwärzenbach, district Titisee-Neustadt. The inn has been a family business for generations and combines farm and inn under one roof. The rich menu is full of regional dishes; the meat of beef and pork is from own rearing, especially good are bathing specialties, such as coarse sausage with potato salad or Alsace sausage salad with bread. There are accommodations in the house (simplified rooms). Those who like to go and seek peace are well kept in this house. The host room is original with large tiled stove and very clean; the service is friendly. skiing is possible in winter; Lift in the immediate vicinity. The return to the Gasthof Ahorn is worthwhile for the simple loved ones and lovers. Wednesday and Thursday rest day"

We loved our dinners at the place. Our server helped us with the German menu. We chose the venison stew. It was so good! This is obviously a popular restaurant with the local people. Everyone was having a good time. The chef came out to ask us if we liked our meal. We told him it was THE BEST!

You'll have to want to go here, but it's worth the trip. Very friendly staff, and a cozy atmosphere make a great meal even better. I went with the pork schnitzel which was the best I've had in Germany. A thick slice of pork in fine breading cooked up just right, served with the delicious yukon gold fries that seem popular in Schwarzwald. My wife went with a spaetzle dish that also dazzled, all for around 20 euros.

We had a very nice dinner here tonight. Very hospitable hosts and fast service. It was a very busy night with a lot of locals celebrating. The menu has typical German dishes like Schnitzel, Bratwurst and Käsespätzle (vegetarian). But also a cheese and ham plate...with slices of bread is one of the options. We had course, with drinks and coffee after for euro per person. Well worth it. Ps. Wednesday and Thursday the restaurant is closed.

Our family stayed here for dinner on our ride in the Black Forest. The restaurant has an old world charm inside and outside. All our meals were delicious. The Champignonshnitzel and Wildschw roasts were very special. Service was excellent, the server was friendly, and the prices were reasonable. Although it was a busy Sunday evening with many people who seemed to be out of the area, our meals arrived quite quickly and the server visited our inquiries in time. If you are in the area, you should stop in this rural environment.

"We were booked in May 2023 for 2 nights in 2 double rooms. I was present for one night. The “wellness hotel” declared by HRS was quite old and did not have an open indoor swimming pool and the day before our arrival we found out at short notice that the restaurant was also closed. We deliberately chose the hotel because of its own restaurant... The telephone availability was catastrophic, the owner justified this by saying that guests would often call for weather information from Tititsee. The owner, Mr. Franz, also assured me over the phone that they would accommodate the costs of my two dogs due to the inconvenience of the restaurant being closed. Since I was still of the old school when it came to the spoken word, I trusted his words and didn't take them in writing. When we left, however, the receptionist denied him that he wasn't in the house, but I had already seen him at breakfast. The lady at the reception told me that the boss had changed his mind and that there was no concession regarding the costs for 2 dogs. Cowardly act by an dishonest hotelier. I have never experienced anything like it. I travel privately and for business at least 180 days a year! So I paid 30.00 euros for one night in this flophouse for 2 small dogs. In comparison, the 5 star Hotel Roomers in Baden-Baden charges 29 euros for the 2 Yorkshire Terriers. The selection at breakfast is positive. The cleanliness in the room left something to be desired, there were black hairs in the freshly made bed. There was a used, probably unwashed blanket full of hair for the dogs. Conclusion: ONCE and NEVER again Rooms: If you don't value cleanliness, this is the place for you. Nearby activities: The thermal baths are in the immediate vicinity Walkability: Central location in Titisee"

"For years we have been making a carnival holiday in Hinterzarten and until last year we have always been home guests in the Schwarzwaldhof; details about the hotel and the restaurant I am saving at this point, that can be all on the Internet under [here link] also the menu. Especially at the carnival time (or even at Christmas) there is a lot of going on in hints and in most restaurants you have to get really luck without booking; this applies both at lunchtime and in the evening. Individuals or couples may have luck; Groups are odd. We ate the peasant vesper plate at the peasant stable of the Schwarzwaldhof in the afternoon; as they already know and at the price of just EUR 7.00, this plate is already almost unbeatable. Two slices of coarse liver and bloodworm, each two slices of swarms, bacon and black forests of hamspeck, onion rings, cucumbers and dark peasant bread. Tastes really very good and is saturating until evening when you brush the plate completely. Here the price/performance ratio is really very harmonious; for all dishes, especially from the lunch or evening ticket, this does not apply in the Schwarzwaldhof. And for me a little manko on the edge: there is no red house but Fürstenberg! The ambience in the peasant stüble is extremely rustic and somewhat antiqued in the other restaurant rooms. The rooms are okay; above all we liked the tower room with skybed very well! Our serviceman in the Stüble was, first of all, talkable, and straight to a Lexicon on two legs; for hours, I wouldn't have carried him, good friend back or back!"
