"This is where the locals eat and in Baveria, that means everything. You can't beat the value or quality of this family run restaurant. Most meals are in the to euro mark and sumptuous. My photo is of a simple tuna salad but...both the salad and chuncks of tuna were excellent, executed with mini bread sticks for added panache. Friendly staff, with at least one person seaking English, and good house wine. The menu covers salads, steaks, poultry, fish and pizza. As an added bonus, you can walk off the calories with a nature walk in the adjoining park. The water exercise, for feet, ankles and lower leg circulation in water, is a must!"

"Finding the Hocheck was a little bit of an exercise, since it sits somewhat above the entry road, accessed by a steep driveway. Once we'd found it, we realized that the name, which means high corner was quite appropriate. We found a parking place with...no problem in front. It was early in the evening, so the restaurant wasn't crowded. The decor was very traditional and cozy, and more rustic than most we'd been in. It had by the entry door what seemed to be one of those old large German household ceramic heating stoves. The waiter was helpful and friendly, and he spoke English well enough. The menus were bound, interestingly, in wooden boards, and there were English-language menus available too. We ordered a variety of plates; schnitzel, cordon bleu, schweinsbraten, and a bauerngroestl. The schweinsbraten was very tasty, and it along with an extra side of spaetzle, was indeed a full meal. Dinner for four was a very reasonable Euros, including water, tea, and soft drinks. And bonus! it began to snow again outside while we were eating (this was on May We were all-around pleased with the Hocheck and will make sure to return there during our next visit to the area."

"Most people who go to Berchtesgaden...don 't notice Ramsau (20 min drive to the south). It 's a hidden village for the most part....a couple of hotels spread among a village and the hof there in the middle. It rests on the north side of the Ramsauer...Ache (stream). Parking is a minor issue (about 60 meters prior to the Hof, on the left, heading west, there 's a small parking lot). It 's a small hotel and restaurant. The food? Absolutely authentic and five-star at least by Bavarian standards. They have an excellent garden sitting area if you go in the spring or summer. Pick dumplings with whatever you order, and it 'll shock you on the quality. The old ladies in the back of the kitchen? They know the fine art of Bavarian food. As for cost? Rump-steak might run around 20 Euro, but who 'd waste an evening on rump-steak? Go for the pork roast and dumpings, for around 15 Euro."

"We hebben hier gegeten na het lezen van de lovende reviews. Het voordeel van dit restaurant zit in de portemonnee, een goed gevuld bord eten is hier te krijgen voor nog geen 10,- euro. Gekeken naar de prijs is de kwaliteit redelijk te noemen. Maar de kwaliteit van de producten is niet daverend hoog. Rund steak is van belabberde kwaliteit, zo ook de goulash. Schnitzels zijn prima, salade is lekker en vers. Personeel is vriendelijk."

"Nette Besitzer, gutes Essen, Zimmer völlig ausreichend. Wir waren für eine Nacht auf Durchreise hier. Den Wimbachklamm war noch das i Tüpfelchen. Herrlich ruhige Ecke, auch für ein etwas tiefer gelegtes Auto gut erreichbar. Parkplätze gibt es direkt vorm Haus. Das Frühstück war toll, alles liebevoll morgens schon hergerichtet mit Sonderwunscherfüllung. Wir kommen bestimmt nochmal her. Lieben Dank für die schöne, wenn auch sehr kurze Zeit"
