"First of all, it's open on a Monday which is evidently odd but good because I want beer and food after a six hour drive. The food is really...good...but...tourist bland. I really tried, I went in looking for some authentic kesselfleisch offal intensity, and I got pork roast with canned sauerkraut that was somehow worse than the stuff I remember as a kid--also from a can. Don't take me wrong, it was good, just boring. More for you than for me. You'd probably really like it and tell me to go to hell...yawn. It is, reportedly the oldest recorded place to feed/sleep in Ulm (Reported by their menu as 1320). The soup I had was a beefy dumpling with pickled vegetables and was friggin delicious. All of the staff was super nice, which is all the more reason the disappointingly bland other tourist food threw me off. All in all, I'd say you should come here when you're hungry in need of food/beer, and your only other option is curry-wurst."

delicious food and great service. they were very tailored to my limited German language skills. this restaurant is 700 years old. in any case worth a visit if they are in ulm!

Karin, the owner, is a sweet beautiful woman able to put you and your guest in the best and comfortable condition to appreciate the ancient atmosphere and the great dishes they serve. Absolutely a place to visit and stay relaxed

It's a traditional German house but super modern and chic. The waiters were superb and the service was excellent! Food was not salty as the typical German restaurants and it was full portions and sooooo good! Totally recommend! Must stop by this hidden gem here. Ver carta

Im in Spargel heaven. Didn't realize it but it IS Spargel Season and they have it on the board. Started with Spargelsuppe and it was the white asparagus base but had green also in it. MMMmmmmmm. Next and final (because who could eat more was the Pork Medallions with HUGE White Asparagus and boiled potatoes. No room left for dessert which is a shame since they are killer here.

The food was awful. Having declined a potato salad side dish we ordered a side salad at extra price only to be served a potato salad disguised with lettuce and swimming in slop. This was to go with Maultaschen which was in no way the traditional dish. The service was perfunctory. The server was pleasant enough but not really interested. When we asked for the bill he went back to the bar and started speaking to his workmates. It took another ten minutes and a lot of trying to catch his eye before we could pay. I do not recommend this restaurant.
