As bad as they say. Have to agree with other reviews here. We were here on a quiet night, with only 4 or 5 tables occupied. However, they still managed to serve poor quality food cold and poorly prepared. The waiting staff were arrogant, bordering on surly and overcharged us at the end of the meal, then argued when we pointed out the error. AVOID.

wonderful place for my birthday dinner. I chose gazette (balham) to host my 50th birthday dinner. I had about 45 guests, but had never organized such a thing before gazettes manager took all the stress away from the beginning of the preparations. I received help and advice to organize the seat plan and received extras like a personalized menu and name cards that were all prepared by gazette to not charge at all. great restaurant experience. my family and I went to gazette restaurant in balham, south london for a dinner. the restaurant itself seemed the ideal place for a relaxing bistro dinner. this was however far from what it seemed personal quite stressed and had no time to treat with tables properly. when the food came ( waiting for an hour) we were not only hungry, but it was cold. I myself was a vegetarian it was difficult to find a suitable choice on the menu and found I was very sick due to the kitchen with meat stock (one can accept) in vegetarian oriented all in any experience we don't forget, but not for the right reasons, unnecessary to say we won't read more...read

Very disappointing...... Tr.... Very disappointing...... Tried gazette for the first time this morning but unfortunately left very disappointed. Upon being shown to a table, menus took ages to arrive, while being given the menus we asked for some water which never came. After going to the bar and asking again, a couple of minutes later they finally came. We ordered eggs benedict and a croque Monsieur and 2 milkshakes. the food arrived roughly 2 minutes after we ordered. Was slightly too quick we thought. The Last Visit. Many moons ago we were big fans of the Battersea branch and frequent, and always satisfied, visitors. However, last night's experience at the larger Balham branch will be our last to either Gazette. In summary, the food continues to be lardy French and delicious but the service and whole experience left a bitter taste in the mouth. This place has set its stall out and for what you're paying, one would expect more. Booked table for 9.15, only to find that table was given away (without apology, just a we didn't know how long your wife was going to be even though they had been told a couple of mins).
