I have been fortunate enough to dine at several Michelin-starred restaurants across the country. However, my experience at Gem 42 was truly outstanding, from the moment I walked through the door, I was genuinely impressed by the warm and cordial welcome extended to me by the staff. Their professionalism and attentiveness throughout the evening enhanced every aspect of the dining experience. What truly set Gem 42 apart was the exceptional quality of their food, which seamlessly combined locally sourced produce with an enticing Italian twist. Each dish was meticulously prepared and presented, demonstrating the chef's dedication to culinary perfection. The exquisite flavours and creative combinations showcased the immense talent and skill of the kitchen team. This place absolutely blows the competition out of the water. I didn’t believe the reviews before my first visit, but now I do. It’s not just somewhere to eat, it’s theatre and magic too. The welcome, the layout, the tableware, the glassware, the food, the drink, the environmental ethos, the location and the service are all 5 star. My husband is an omnivore and I am vegan and it’s hard to find somewhere we both really enjoy, but Gem 42 is one. I also don’t drink alcohol and was delighted to see that they have not 1 but 4 homemade kombuchas on offer!
