"This restaurant serves delicious food! I had the Bretton fish soup as a starter, which was delightful. My partner had the perfectly cooked and tasty mussels, of which I also stole a few bites. For our mains, I ordered the pan-fried chicken in a delicious morel sauce, while my partner opted for the monkfish. The flavors were amazing and we can still taste them lingering. We appreciate being able to bring our dog and feeling so relaxed. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Dunkirk is now our favorite place to eat. Thank you for a great dining experience!"

"This pub serves excellent food. The hand-cut chips are particularly good. On my second visit, I tried the fish and chips, steak and kidney pie, scampi, and fajitas, and all were delicious and cooked perfectly. The only downside is that the plates were not very hot, unless you order a sizzler. Despite this, I still rate the food as excellent. It is also good value for money. The location is convenient for meeting up as it is close to the M1. The average price per person is £70-80."

"we live only 2 minutes from the traveling and during our 4 years in our house it has changed the hands so often. so much that we wrote it as a good pub and always went somewhere else. However, the new renter does a fantastic work and has injected the life into the place. the personal is very friendly and accommodating, they feel very welcome here. the food is also good, for pub duck it ticks the box. I am very fussy about a Sunday roast, but the vatertag roast got a massive thumb of me and my family!"

"After previously giving this place a 5 star review after multiple good visits. Tonight I felt the need to amend my review. Booked in advance and arrived on time, had to wait 25 mins for a table, after ordering at the waiting area we were taken upstairs where there was not one other person sat down, it was empty. Why the delay? We eventually got our starters. Half hour later, because we were the only ones upstairs and forgotten about, they came with the mains. One of which had clearly been left waiting as was burnt and tough. Unusual for this establishment based on past experience. After 10 years of using this place with no issues, I could have overlooked this. But when it came to the bill, they insisted almost threateningly on cash payment. Like my card payment was dirty. Bitterly disappointed at the change in service and quality levels. Will not be returning any time soon unfortunately and as a place I have previously rated. Thats a big shame. Not sure why the insistance on cash after the service with no mention before or during. Was suggested to pay staff. But something does not sit right or comfortable."
