"Not great experience. Turned up around 5pm asking for table for 2. It wasn't busy. I think we were only ones ordering. Was asked to take a seat by lady behind bar who said she would bring out menu. The menu never showed up. I went back to the bar which was desserted. A lady who was just leaving offered to take our order which was nice of her. Whilst waiting for our meal all we could hear was a Liverpudlian lady shouting. The Sunday roast was nice so no complaint there. There were various other people including staff walking around shouting and swearing. Just not a nice experience. Not professional. It was better when I went a few years ago but apparently there has been a change of management. I think it needs to change again. Don't feel that I would want to return."

Popped in as there is a new pizza place in the courtyard at the back. I had a meatzza, which was lovely and you could watch them being made. I’ll definitely be back. Ver carta

This pub is rather shambolic and grimy, but the food is very good and the Harvey’s ale slips down very nicely. The Spitfire and Captain Tom murals are worth a look too.

Calle in by chance on the last day of our holiday. Great pint of cider and a lovely ploughman’s platter to share excellent value, great quality and friendly staff give it a try as this place is definitely on the up!

We had a group of 10 plus 3 infants and booked in for Sunday roast. The staff were attentive in organising our large booking and made sure to give us a time slot where they could give us the best service. We asked for children's meals to come out first and they came out quickly and we're delicious. Same with the adult meals everyone thoroughly enjoyed. A very delicious roast! Ver carta

Apparently the pub had recently come under new management, we were met by a young man, my friend had reserved a table so we were shown where to sit. The meal was ok and our waitress was very sweet. When we got the bill for our meal it had OLD LADIES written on the top, we may not be in our prime but we are mobile and fit! We challenged them about it on the way out and they did apologise, but needless to say we won’t be going back there.

We visited today with our newborn, for a Sunday lunch with our Grandparents. The atmosphere was calm and friendly. We all got the lamb Sunday roast, it was delicious. Came with a lovely helping of vegetable. The cauliflower cheese was delicious and everyone was really impressed with the cuttings and amount of lamb. For dessert we had the homemade chocolate brownie and fruits of the day crumble(plum and apple). Really delicious and could tell it was homemade, fresh, hot, light but filling. Prices reasonable, spent about £20-25pp and this was drinks, main and dessert, quality of food and service was well worth our visit.

"Our excitement to see this café open allowed us an opportunity for some needed refreshment . Oh a cup of tea and a slice of cake or a little available small snack was what we needed . We were told by an employee sit down we come to you , so we did .. Another staff member standing behind the counter looked over and frumpy look called the cook who had the same frumpy look and went back to cooking , We : waited , waited , waited , waited and saw the frumpy counter woman still in the same spot , we waited and waited then left , maybe she was glued to the floor . We looked left and saw a pub named the Pheasant, oh drink and food , renewed enthusiasm and excitement we entered to staff who couldn 't do enough, so professional and warrants praise and a revisit , after a while we left and waited outside for our taxi , looking over we saw the cafe closed , ahhhhh it all came together and understanding that we was an inconvenience to the café as they was closing in half an hour after our visit , How long would it have taken to make a cup of tea for two? , us drink it , then how long would it have taken them to wash up the cups ? , they still would have twenty minutes for the woman to be unglued, our first impressions were of a cafe with many seats and a welcoming atmosphere, the woman employee sitting at the front table working was professional and welcoming the tables were clean and we kept our excitement as we waited , our excitement and enthusiasm faded, we left happily for the woman glued to the floor , we are appreciating the effort of the lady at the table who was seriously let down by the others , thank you for your efforts , apart from her professional customer service skills our Eureka moment to see the café open wasn 't to last , sorry to the staff member at the table I 'm very sure the service we had wouldn 't have been what you would have given , this review seems strong in tone but it 's our experience in here that day.. . I am not now able to show enthusiasm for another visit , I would have loved having that day and opportunity to empty my wallet a little and a little bit more on what would have been another visit , sorry no Eureka moment taken away that day."
