Giraffe - Carta

Very loud. The food was good overall. However, it was our first evening in London and we didn't read our bill properly and thought the service charge was VAT and paid it. If we had been paying attention, we would not have paid it. Service was only ok.

Our experience at this restaurant was not very good. We were told when we arrived that we needed to leave in an hour, even though there were many empty tables. The service was okay, but the food wasn't hot and was only warm at best. We didn't enjoy our meal and wouldn't choose to eat here again when we are in London next.

The prices at this restaurant are reasonable given the location. Dining outside offers decent views, though not exceptional. The service was excellent and the food was satisfactory, though not exceptional. It's not a gourmet dining experience, but worth the price. The menu is a bit limited, but it's a good spot for a quick meal while sightseeing. Ver carta

The service was terrible and my friend received judgement from the waitress for ordering a particular food. They scammed us by telling us that the dumplings came with the meal then charged us £4.00 for them at the end of the meal. They overcharged us and our meal was supposed to come to £30 and it came £37. I am absolutely appauled with this service and we will not be returning here.

After finishing our meal and waiting for a friend, a staff member asked us to move to the bar area where our friend was going to order as well. This request made us feel uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the restaurant did not have power sockets so we had to rent a power bank, which resulted in us not fully charging our phones. The food was good and the waiters were excellent, but the management staff could use some improvement.

My friend and I were trying to decide if we can afford to go here. Looked at the menu TODAY 23rd JUNE and yet no prices!! Why?! I came on trip advisor to see if anyone else had this issue and turns out just a few days ago someone did and was told in a reply by Giraffe it was an IT issue and now fixed well I can confirm it isn’t fixed (why say it is?? . Leads me to wonder why? Do they charge what they want when you turn up on different days? Concerning it’s not there and concerning someone has said it’s fixed when it isn’t. Annoying as we are on a budget and now don’t know if we can afford to go or not. Ver carta

We were seated at a booth straight away, but waited a good 20 minutes before someone eventually came over to our table and took our orders. If we weren’t so hungry we would have walked out. I ordered the Teriyaki salmon and Jasmine rice and my husband had a Smokey Joe’s burger. The food surprisingly came out within 5 minutes. The salmon was really nice but the burger was mediocre at best and arrived with a pitiful amount of fries. My husband was still hungry afterwards. It was tiny. Even I was surprised as we had the same burger at Giraffe at Gatwick a few years ago and it was amazing. My friend and I decided on a whim to eat here before going to a West End show. It is easy walking distance from Waterloo station and about a 20 minute brisk walk to the West End. The Southbank area is really lovely on a wintry night. We explained to our server that we would only be there for about 50 minutes and we ordered our mains and desserts at the same time to help speed the process along. They were very receptive to this and our main meals came out within five minutes of ordering. My friend had a bacon and cheese Smokey Joe (burger) and I had Katsu chicken curry. We lucked out as arrived at London Eye too early and were struggling to find anywhere to eat breakfast, a short 5 minute walk away though we found Giraffe. My first experience of this chain and if the experience we had here is anything to go by then we will all definitely be going back! The service was exceptional, very friendly and very fast! The breakfasts were all huge! And the hot sandwich with small drink for £7 was great value, as the sandwich was HUGE! Including bacon, sausages and a hashbrown (I swapped out the egg for sausage).
