Gogo's Waterfront - Menú

I haven’t been for a while , always loved it but sadly after today’s experience will not be returning. Food very poor, tea hardly warm and very weak, poached eggs cold, sausage pale and uninviting, bacon was hard……..all in all extremely disappointing and not worth £97 at all.

Called in for a late afternoon drink and took a bench seat with a great view of the marina. After a few minutes I went into the bar and asked to order drinks but was asked where we were sitting and they would come to me. I took a drinks menu and went back to our seats and waited……and waited….and waited. On leaving (without being served) I returned the menu to the bar and said that we were going as we hadn’t been served. I was shrugged at, but not a word was said…….make your own mind up.

GOGOs recently hosted a Christmas get together for 30 or so of us in the private Shebeen Barn area. I can't thank the team enough for an amazing afternoon, the room looked fantastic when we arrived, with a roaring fire going which definitely added to the festive feel! All of our pre-ordered food came out correctly and on time and seemed to go down a treat! Would definitely recommend the space and venue for a function with a bigger group, the team were also so helpful in the lead up to the event! Thanks again for an excellent day!

Against my better judgement we gave GOGOS a second try after a previous disappointing visit. 4 o’clock on a sunny Friday afternoon and a drink by the river sounded like a good idea. The restaurant was understandably far from busy and there were roughly a dozen people sat outside. We were given a drinks menu from the bar and took a seat outside. We waited and then we waited some more but no server to be seen. We waited a little longer and then a little longer still, no server. What a shame, this restaurant has always been pricey and has historically had bad service but with its great location and sunny spot (no longer as the entire outdoor area is covered), it used to still be worth a visit. Not any more as many of these reviews concur. Now the menu is far reduced, barely anything for vegetarians and pescatarians, including no meat-free espetadas. Completely deep fried fish and cauliflower options with barely any filling. Yuk. Burger small, poorly presented on a mostly bare plate and not particularly good. Cocktails not al available. Have been a few times now and usually find the place ok but not a favourite. Last visit was bordering on unpleasant. Really poor quality live music made conversation really difficult and they wouldn't remedy it. Some food was OK it is hard to mess up chilli squid but the Cape Malay curry was just a load of potatoes in a curry sauce. I would be embarrassed to serve that up at home and left half of it. A good restaurant would have noticed that but no comment was made. Strangely, the wine waiter opened the wine then proceeded to pour a small amount in all of our glasses then disappeared without comment! Perhaps a little training is warranted here.......... Location is amazing and the staff really helpful and polite, we drove to Windsor for the day and had a late lunch early dinner. Gogo's was recommended to us by a friend. Unfortunately today was not a good one for them, I ordered a double burger with a blue cheese sauce. The burger was cooked beyond well done and very dry, The blue cheese sauce was very thin and lacked blue cheese. My other friends ordered these fancy Kebab meals and all of them were so dry. Absolutely shocking food and service we had the meat sharer, everything was totally over cooked by a long way. Tough ribs, chewy chicken and burnt sausage. We left most of it!! I told the staff they didn’t care and looked scared. The service was terribly slow we were there an hour before the food showed up. One of the waitresses went up to a table of people in the middle of eating dinner who had a spare table at the end of theirs and just said I need this table abruptly and grabbed it knifes and folks went flying and then she said oh wait there is a table over there and frog matched two customers over to another table. We visited today for a special birthday gathering I must confess after reading recent reviews I was a bit worried! we travelled from various places round the country used Gogos as a central meeting point all I can say us wow! yes it appears the menu has recently shrunk but their was still a good choice with 10 of us eating there were no complaints could maybe do with a couple more veggie options would be my only comment. The food when it arrived was beautifully cooked presented.
