Golden Boy - Carta

Once again we had a very acceptable meal from this quality take-away. Well done Golden Boy and keep up the good work !

Ordered chicken curry and chips and beef curry and chips and large curry sauce. The meal was awful, the chips hard and the curry sauce watery and greasy. Expensive takeaway when most of it ended in the bin! Will not be ordering here again.

Tiny Chinese takeaway in the town centre. Waiting area could do with a lick of paint as not very inviting as you step through the door, but service was quick and food hot and absolutely delicious. This is the one we will be using from now on. Ver carta

Shocking excuse for a vegetarian meal. Vegetarian stir fried vegetables consisted of a takeaway container full of bamboo shoots and water chestnuts apart from approximately one half mushrooms some shaved carrot, propped up by some peppers. Really?! Terrible to call it a vegetarian meal. Won’t be returning.

Now the best Chinese Takeaway in Horncaslte. Good food, good price and nice variety of dishes. The staff are always friendly and phoning for pick up orders are is very straight forward. Would be great to have delivery available- but that is a picky comment, as none of the other takeaways (except pizza) offer this in Horncastle either.

While visiting family in Horncastle we used this take-away as the regular one was closed for a refurb. What a mistake. All the dishes tasted the same, the containers were only half full and had to wait for our telephoned order for an additional 20 minutes over the ½ hour we were told originally. Certainly not the best available in the town! Ver carta

Can't fault the taste and quality of the good but when you order a chicken meal and a beef meal I think you would expect more than 4 and 3 pieces of meat respectively in a meal for two. Plenty of tasty veg but you know I thought we would have more meat to share in the tubs. Might have to consider moving elsewhere and that would be sad. Disappointed!!

Everything which my family and I have had from here has been quite excellent. We’ve been returning here for years and this is definitely the best chinese takeaway in the town and surrounding area. The food comes out hot and is always efficient in being ready to collect. I’ve never been disappointed with this fantastic cuisine and it makes my evening when I have it. The only downside is it’s not open at lunch time.

2 main dishes of Kung Po chicken and beef with green peppers in oyster sauce were very disappointing. The Kung Po chicken seemed mainly to be made up of water chestnuts/bamboo and there was none of the sweet/sour/spice you expect from the sauce, didn’t really taste of anything! The beef in the other dish was extremely chewy and again, could barely taste the garlic or oyster sauce. The chips and noodles were both good but you can’t really get them wrong. Ver carta
