Golden Haddock - Carta

Fantastic fish and chips light and crispy battered fish and beautifully fresh fried chips. Highly recommend! Service with a smile too!

Chips very dry after sitting under lamps, curry sauce very bland. Fish was also very small and dry, batter was the best part. All in all very poor quality for the price.

When we stay in Withernsea we always have Fish and Chips from the Golden Haddock, they are constantly the best in town. Freshly fried fish, chunky chips and mushy peas, never fail to hit the spot. Brilliant every time

Probably the best fish chips I’ve ever had. Lovely, light crispy batter, flakey haddock and excellent chips. Service was great and the food was incredibly good value for money. Fish chips of this quality in some cities would be twice the price. Really enjoyed it.

Fantastic chippy! I had such a lovely meal here that I wanted to go back before our little trip away ended! Unfortunately I didn’t get the chance too, but if I ever return to Withernsea, the Golden Haddock is where I would go for food! Very tasty food at perfect prices! Second time we’ve visited here and never thought of going anywhere else. Anything fried is done so to order. Always found the haddock is well battered and doesn’t have stodgy batter underneath the crispy side; cooked well through. Prices reasonable as per any fish and chips, only down side was the mushy peas which were bland and flavourless, but highly recommended place in Withernsea!

Very disappointing. I 've used this restaurant on many occasions. Sometimes it 's first class and well worth the inflated cost of this traditional British staple, but it has become a disappointing waste of the price it costs, with an ever increasing frequency. Tonight 's fish failed miserably: they really couldn 't batten down the batter? The haddock was welded to it in most places dried up and tasteless, like chewing on deep fried tupperware. The chips seem to be on the decline,too? The majority of it ended up in the bin. I doubt I 'll be using, or recommending, this 'chippy ' again until it sorts its act out.

An absolute rip off for one of the worst fish and chips I've ever tasted. Certainly the worst on the east Yorkshire coast. The large haddock was a joke. Call it a large?!! It was slightly bigger than the two small fish I purchased. Complete daylight robbery. All of our fish was overcooked, dry with horrible batter. Chips were ok but very greasy, curry sauce flavourless. To top it off given one of them terrible nasty wooden forks that are a pain to eat with. Additionally there's no kids menu so my five year old understandably could only stomach not even half of the swamp of a small adult portion. What planet is this shop on? Disgraceful Ver carta
