"Ate here in June with a larger group. Schwabisch Hall is an absolutely charming city and the Goldener Adler adds to the charm. The hotel/restaurant is located right on the market square adjacent to the open air theatre/church. They provide outdoor seating as well as elegant casual indoor dining. The service is exceptional and the food is amazingly great! We enjoyed the pork with mushroom sauce and although it was a large portion, I was able to eat most of it. It paired well with the Mohrenkopfle beer only available in this region brewed by Haller Lowenbrau! I cannot speak for the hotel accommodations as I did not stay here; however, the bathrooms are large and very clean."

We had several meals here and all were stellar. One of the better breakfasts I have had in Germany. For dinner, the beef cheeks were "to die for.

The food was great and so was the staff. Really a typical old german restaurant. Wanted some "typical" german food - ended up with Fränkisches Schäufele, beer and Malteserkreuz. Ver carta

I have had a couple of meals here - both good. Friendly, prompt, attentive service. Traditional German fare - try something unusual - I had Saure Kuttelen - marinated tripe: excellent, for 9.90Euro! Tidy mens; washroom.

So we were a group of 5 for dinner and drinks. Service was promptly and courteous. The food was delicious. Traditional meals and great steak as well. Large portion sizes. Cold beer. We sat on the patio and we're entertained the entire time by a rehearsal for a play happening right beside the restaurant at St Michaels church. Great night.

Nice and clean place with a great traditional atmosphere. All the food is of good quality and served fresh. I could say that the steak I ordered was a 9.5 out of 10from all the steak I had this year. Service is accurate but in no way inspiring. The staff walk around as if they work in a Goulag labour camp. Staff hangs around with long faces and are not friendly in any way. If you don't mind the bad behaving and unfriendly staff you will be quite okay. Ver carta

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed everything about the Goldener Adler. The ambiance of the restaurant was very attractive and yet the appearnce took us back to perhaps a period in the early to mid 1900's. I ordered the veal in a rich brown sauce that was outstanding. And my wife ordered a wiener schnitzel which she raved about. Add accompaning standard German salads, wonderful fried potatoes smothered in onions, hard crusted German Brochen rollls, and a German White Reisling wine, and how can you go wrong.

we sit outside in this restaurant in the midst of the amazing st. michael’s church and the glorious bells begin to ring! the nice waiter comes and picks up our order, the bells were an omen for good eating! the meat, the pommes, the sauces, the salads... all the more profitable. the carving was soft, the beer were of course exceptional. we have eaten nine for €! we had two of our old German exchange pupils with alcohol and the abzock tax in whole Germany. still this price was great! € per person, gor this great food? damn yes! a bottle of water costs here by the way more than beer

"as a customer of plow for the last 6 years this time will probably be my last. I booked a table for the last Saturday night for 20.15 and was told to me when I had booked, we would have to sit and have an aperitif while. we waited for our table. no problem, this is of course Saturday night. at the arrival we were given into the wineable and a table. whether it was a communication problem between which the booking or the waitress took place, which impresses that we eat in the non-restaurant part. Of course, my wife was very moved before we even had a drink or ate. when we got our table, I had my jacket with me, by the way, nobody asked me if I wanted to hang him up. there were 3 waitresses in this night and the chefin. the first waitress asked if our order had been taken. my wife replied that we needed a menu where the waitress asked my wife if she could speak up, I can't hear her. so my wife, who is German, asked very slowly and loudly if we could have a menu, please we ordered our food and the brot and the delicious dives arrived. at this time 2 waitresses and chefin had been to our table and fell to notice that we had no serviettes. I felt that the service did not live up to the standard of the restaurant that costs 100€ per head. the night did not begin smoothly and I fear they could see it in the placement of the workers. maybe a little better training and courtesy. As for eating, I ordered three courses, like my wife. I would have ordered more, but for the choice. I loved my starter of duck leber and fish curs of seabass. the problem that I have is the same dishes that I had last year apart from some cannellini begging on my sea floor. the most important courses of venison and blackening were very subduing. my wives bite size parts of bauch gay and suck more tasteless pork and my underheated venison filet was so disappointing. the only thing that was fed on my teller, were the mushrooms, the comma cook must have dropped the black pfefferpot because my mouth burned. normally I love warmth! as for the desserts a soft and unimpressive mouse and eis with a small triangle of tuille not exactly the wow factor to finish a meal. I don't expect a damp radio from the baked cook. the other choice was stylton, port and coward. not very innovatiw. I just woke up in the 1990s. I understand that the plow has high standards when it comes to eating and maybe the menu does not change so often, but after a year and that goes for the ala carte it is time for change. This time was really the worst experience we had here. it might have been a bad day in the office. my wife and I treat us once or twice a year to a special night. This time we were sadly disappointed. I will not waste our hard-earned money when you visit the plow."
