"If you are a big fan of (basic) Rococo style's decoration, regardless of the average tastes of the cakes and flammkuchen, then this cafe might be your choice. We wanted to tried the cafe since it was recommended by Stuttgart's best restaurant Plus,...they had candles lighted on in the evening providing a great atmosphere for talking. I expected the cakes and tea would give me a relaxing night. Rococo's decoration (golden/bronze with theatrical theme) provides the cafe a old-time feeling, where novelist typed their masterpieces. Even the cafe was empty at one side, the waiter still leaded us to its crowded part. Then we ordered a slice of apple cake and a mediterranean flammkuchen with a pot of tea. Personally, I think there is a misunderstand of the word of mediterranean in this cafe, since no olive (oil), grape leaves/colorful peppers or any form of wheat on this flammkuchen. It contains pears, cheese and slides of mushroom. I actually had no idea which style this is. Despite this, interestingly, there is no sign of cooking. Even though the preparation fits the definition of the term cooking, where it is defined as the practice or skill of preparing food by combining, mixing, and heating ingredients it completely lacked of synthesizing, where all flavors are actively reconcile. Both dishes have the same problem, every single ingredient's taste is right on the surface, as in the style of salad-bar. Take the apple cake as an example, I actually believe the fresh, softened apples' stuffing are the plus of the cake. But that's all, the sensitive combination of the apple-flavor, the softness of the dough plus the sweetness from the yolk was simply not there. There is no richness at all in the cake. If they wanted to emphasize on the freshness of the apple, I didn't see they even tried to make an effort on this point. I should mention that they do have various kinds of cakes that could fill a big showcase window. (Hopefully they have various quality standards on them respectively If I remembered correctly, we spent almost (plus tip) for the salad-bar experience."
