"We went here for dinner on our first night in Edinburgh because of the story of the dog Bobby. It was wonderful to see the statue and learn more about it, but the pub itself was a bit of a disappointment. The chef was finishing early so we were brought our starter and mains at the same time, and no opportunity to order a dessert. This was 8pm on a Friday night, so would have expected to be able to eat eithout the rush at that time. The staff were very friendly, but the service was quite slow. The food was okay, but nothing too special and the atmosphere was a bit dead. There are other better places to try scottish classics in the city."

Cozy local Scottish pub. Known for their homemade pies. We ordered the steak and pale ale pie, served with mash potato, steamed greens and carrots. Tasty, generous portion.

Great fish pie with vegetables and a white wine sauce. Several of their beers out but they recommended a great substitute. Cool history behind the establishment as well! Be sure to get a photo of Bobby on the way out!

This fantastic lunch spot is impossible to miss. They offer a wide variety of vegetarian options and exceptional service. The line extended from the door around the corner, but the friendly server remained calm and relaxed.

Friendly staff. Very professional. We ordered steak pie and burger. The steak pie had gristle and fat and that puts me off looked good. Hubby said his burger was nice. The pub decor is nice olde worlde. I would drink here but not eat.

Affordable and cheerful! This restaurant is extremely vegan-friendly, and we absolutely enjoyed the vegan haggis toastie. It's a great deal at £4, especially considering its central location and the wide variety of menu items available. The staff is welcoming and attentive.

very frightening named after a puppy, including a statue outside! we were too late for eating when we first arrived, but the next day went back for a beer and a snack. the mac and the cheese were excellent, as well as the brokkoli and the muddy. good service, great place, warm moods and an iconic dog!

a friend and I stopped a few weeks ago a coffee and a sweet tasty bite on a day trip to edinburgh. we had sticky toffee pudding in understood (what we got, with custard...freaking amazing), but were distracted by a daily special of the meringue and heavenly quality in a dome (so we have. the dame that served us was super friendly, and the place has a cute story about a dog (be sure to touch his nose in front of the place.) I am with pictures of the medal raspberry thing, because I have never been so close to the orgasm of a dessert in my entire American life.

"new kapitel has caught my attention after I was on top ten on trip advisor only months after the opening in the oktober last year. that and the fact that it is open for my early january birthday, made it the perfect place to celebrate to become a little older. I was with the man and his family. the man is quite used to my taste and good to the kind of kitchen that would appeal to me for a special occasion; his family not so much and I was filled with shame as his mother scornful went through the menu trying to find something she would enjoy. I've eaten with the family of the man, and I know they enjoy eating, so I think it's a failure of the menu that it is not accessible. the benming always blooming and garnish can appeal to some, but for others it is overcomplicated and it is necessary to find a balance between the two. we start with the starters and I go for venison sour wort pithvier. the venison was underheated and incredibly dry, to the happiness the sourded a little moisturizing and so saved the whole dish, but the aromen were quite not clear, except the garnitur of plastered mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed. for the largest part we chose a fish dish for our main,- sea trout, smoked muddles, petersilien and coast herbs. where the starter fell, the main recording is getting back. the dish is rich and creamy, and each element adds the complexity of the taste as a whole, without disturbing. the concept is now an old one, and it would be deceptive if it had not worked, as it would essentially pay with this place. I enjoyed my meal in new chapter, although I do not agree with it is stellar status under the hierarchy of edinburgh eateries. it is top ten position is just a flash in the pan of hot popularity, and in time it will be plated in the upper half of the middle stage where it belongs. and that is where it belongs, the dishes can be plated with a michelin star in understood, and the venue and the supporting media has the clean lines and empty slate look of fine but eat the team has a long gone to go if that is their real aim. at the end, although it was a beautiful meal, and cheap (at the moment I would not be surprised to see their prices slowly rise) and the man’s mother found something they enjoyed and that is the most important."
