"Appalling customer service and a total lack of respect for the customers! I phoned G&G 13.20 to ensure they were open and still serving food. I was categorically told that if I placed my order by 13.45 we would be served. We arrived approximately 5 minutes later to be told the kitchen had closed. There was no shortage of food or staff, I made the point that I had been promised to be served but no explanation was given. I asked to speak to the manager who, again, couldn’t explain why they had broken their commitment to me. I asked what was the problem/constraint? The ‘manager’ merely said “ there is no need to be rude “ . I asked to clarify how she could accuse me of being rude? She couldn’t think of anything to say apart from “the kitchen is closed”. I said I was very dissatisfied and would reflect this in a review, they were not bothered and said that it wouldn’t impact them as they had been doing ok for the last 5 years. Absolutely appalling and disgraceful in my opinion. I actively search out small local businesses and try to support them, this establishment deserves no support whatsoever. It is interesting that the staff were prepared to spend more time arguing with me than it would have taken them to make us a sandwich! BTW the noticeboard stated closing 3 o’clock. A beautiful sunny bank holiday with many potential customers, why not stop serving early and go home! A strange business model!!! We went to Bluebird café and had great food with fantastic customer service despite the significant number of customers."

Smashing flat white (one of the best I’ve ever had) and a very nice chocolate and almond pastry. Haven’t seen this barista before, young lady, keep it up.

What a lovely place, the staff are amazing so friendly and hospitable. The atmosphere is chilled and just a pleasure to visit. Food yummy ! Much love to everyone there

Always fantastic! The staff, the food, the atmosphere…….the food it just incredible! Clean eating at its best! Whatever your taste, they have it here! The staff are obviously very happy here and it shows. Always a smile and a welcome.

Visited just for coffee today. Excellent as always. Have been many times for a small breakfast, sausage sandwich or a lovely mushrooms. Always presented beautifully and delicious. My dogs are always welcomed and enjoy a treat whilst there. Keep up the good work guys, it is appreciated.

What a fantastic place. Such a warm friendly place.lovely staff, the coffee and food are both excellent. I am local and have only just started using this little restaurant/coffee shop, and have discovered that I have really been missing out . Cannot recommend highly enough only open daytime. Ver carta

I arrived in E.P. on a brisk walk and wanted to grab a bite to eat and a cup of tea. It was just after 2:00pm. However, when I walked into the cafe, I was greeted with the announcement that the kitchen was closed and they were not serving food. It was a disappointing welcome, so I said nothing and left to continue on my way. No food, no motivation to stay!

Having visited grub and gumption a few times, we were really saddened to see how standards had slipped, sitting in the window seat the area by the wall the gap between the wall and table was disgustingly dirty as were other areas when we looked the out side area has had a good sweep for months !!!! When the food finally arrived my avocado on toast was bland sliced avocado on toast!! Nothing else not mashed no chilli flakes and prepared by someone who had there loose style sleeves in everything, not great!
