"Recently had lunch here with a friend, he has relatives in the area and had dined here many times before. The initial impression of the Haderner Augustiner is very positive, it's an old, large, traditional Bavarian building with a really nice biergarten (not usable on...a cold day in March, unfortunately). Inside it's traditional Bavarian decor, right down the waitress in a dirndl. The beer is Augustiner, so of course it's great. They were unfortunately done with their Maximator kegs, but it was still nice to have a Helles. My buddy went with the rostbraten, it was huge and he loved it was well as the krautsalat side he ordered. I went with one of the daily specials, a schnitzel that was coated with potato instead of breading. It was delicious. Not too heavy, certainly not light, but just right We were too stuffed for dessert, but didn't want to leave, so we ordered another beer. The location is not great to get to from downtown Munich, but you can use public transportation to get there. In my opinion, it's well worth the trip. There are many excellent restaurants in Munich, but if you get outside of downtown a bit you'll be lucky to find a gem like the Haderner Augustiner."
