"Hanks in Ipswich offers unparalleled vegan options that can't be matched in the area. The entire menu is vegan, making it a top choice for plant-based eaters. The menu is extensive, and although I may not be able to try everything, I'm eager to give it a go. I opted for takeout using the embargo app, and the service was seamless. I highly recommend trying their wraps, hot dogs, and macaroni and cheese if you're unsure what to order. While the prices may be on the higher side, the quality of the food is worth it. The restaurant is usually quiet when I visit, which is perfect for me as I avoid crowds. However, I hope more people show their support for this establishment. It's been a long time coming for quality vegan options in the area, and now we have our own space to enjoy. I also recommend visiting their other locations in Colchester and Felixstowe. Show them some love!"

We are fortunate to have Hanks located in our area. The food is consistently amazing. Make sure to try their quiz nights and kebabs - they come highly recommended!

We had three types of Sunday roasts. Every ingredient on the plate tasted really good and genuine. The seitan and mocked chicken were amazing. The desserts were also quite good.

I love Hank’s and would 100% recommend to anyone in Ipswich or visiting this way. You won’t be disappointed! On the most recent visit, we booked for the Autumn Taster menu! And my word the food was unbelievable

This restaurant is fantastic! The food here is amazing, we tried the chicken and waffles and one of their burgers with tater tots. So delicious! Be sure to try the milkshakes, they are incredible! They also have a selection of board games that made for a really fun evening. Ver carta

Plenty of choice, including salads, burgers, hot dogs, loaded fries, wraps and kebabs. We ordered a Carolina BBQ wrap meal and Korean ‘beef’ loaded fries, and both hit the spot. This is the second time I’ve been for lunch and both times it’s been very quiet, which means service is pretty quick.

We were in Ipswich for a wedding and when we arrived at the Airbnb we were exhausted and hungry from our 3.5hr drive, so we ordered food. Hank's it was! I had the Korean burger and it was delicious, my husband had the chickn supreme and garlic and thyme fries. He also ordered a chocolate cake but I went to bed before he started eating it (he did say it was great though). The menu is huge and very varied, so I'm pretty sure there are a lot of gems on there.

"Checking in to a hotel in an unfamiliar place, it is tempting to book one 's first evening meal in the hotel 's restaurant (unless, of course, one has had chance to research the alternatives beforehand . This may seem a safe option, but is often a mistake, as it was on my visit to Ipswich. Had I only known that a minute 's walk along the quayside would have taken me to Mariners, I should have eaten there twice rather than only once! A floating restaurant can often prove to be a bit of a gimmick, but Mariners seemed to get good reviews so, on night two, I gave it a try. A beautifully restored and maintained Dutch customs gunboat from 1900, with gleaming brass and polished woodwork, the restaurant offers a limited, but well-constructed, menu to satisfy most tastes. Being aboard a boat, I opted for seafood, and was not disappointed. There being an R in the month , mussels were a good choice for my starter, followed by a seafood skewer , presented with just enough theatre to be amusing but not over the top. Not fine dining , perhaps, but well-prepared, nicely presented and very satisfying dishes at reasonable prices. A limited wine list, perhaps a bit on the pricey side, but the Picpoul de Pinet proved to be an excellent accompaniment without over-stressing the credit card. Service struck just the right balance between politeness and friendliness. My fellow diners embraced the whole age spectrum (I was by far the oldest! weighted perhaps towards the younger end, the common factor being that everyone (myself included was clearly enjoying themself. There are many other dining venues along the Ipswich quayside that my brief visit did not allow me to try, but Mariners can be recommended as a safe and enjoyable bet."
