"My husband and I recently visited the Harry Ramsden’s restaurant in Swanage and I have to say it was a very disappointing experience. Firstly, we waited quite a long time for the main course, which went it finally arrived was just about edible. The roasted...vegetable pie was cold and there was no pride in the way the food was presented. We had also ordered desserts bread and butter pudding- and again we waited a long time for it to arrive, the custard was luke warm but the actual pudding cold and tasteless A couple who sat near us were equally disgusted with their food as apparently the Scampi their had ordered was soggy. They also commented on the lack of hygiene of the chef. The one waiter we saw was rushed off his feet trying to serve people and acting as the ‘Maitre D' for the restaurant. Without a doubt there is a serious issue regarding a shortage of staff who appeared to spend most of their time apologising to the customers. How can a big name like Harry Ramsdens with its reputation for World famous ‘Fish and Chips’ allow a restaurant to run such an appalling service, poor standards and disgusting food? Harry Ramsden’s motto is ‘The great taste of our fish and chip keeps our customers coming back for more! I do not think so enter this restaurant at your own peril! I would advise any potential customers not to dine at the Swanage restaurant and to give it a wide berth. There are plenty of local fish and chip shops to choose from which would give you value for money and decent quality warm fish and chips."

chips were not cooked properly and were very soggy the accompanying curry sauce was ok but the smallest portion I have ever encountered

Struggled to find dog friendly restaurants in Swanage so visited Harry Ramsdens. A big shout out for Terry Josh who made us and the dogs very welcome. Extremely friendly and helpful.

you know what you need to expect, and you won't get so much surprises and that's nice. fish and chips were very nice (chips slightly undercooked,) service friendly and beer very good.

Cannot fault, we had the over sixties menu that was fish and chips followed by bread and butter pudding plus custard or ice cream with tea or coffee for the great value at £8.90 Bar drinks available Good value

the service we had at halloween eve was fantastic, so helpful and thoughtful, my father is a vegetarian and was confused what he could eat, the manager went out of his way to help. they helped with my baby, which offers extra teller and always. smile and make sure that we were satisfied with our meals many thanks that they go the extra mile and make our experience very pleasant.

very average. Although they are still sitting in the middle of a pandemic, they are all sitting on neighboring tables (or they did when we visited) the fish and chips were very thorough and certainly not worth money. I visited hr in glasgow many years ago and...sadly there is absolutely no comparison. if they don't mind eating outside, there are far better places in swanage to have fish and were at a much lower price.

Dreadful place now, trainee taking orders messed up, no food or drinks came until I reminded the staff, coffee didn’t appear to have any coffee in it, chips cold and looked liked scraped from the bottom, and for £30 I expect better than sauce sachets,...mismatched plates too. Still haven’t sorted the Gents toilet door after 3 years either. So, it’s a £6 chippy pretending to be something it’s not… Go elsewhere… We won’t be back. Mike
