This restaurant is located in the very center of the picturesque city of Jena in Thuringia. The food is traditional for the region. The wine is mainly German. The service is ok but not outstanding.

waitress kept serving wrong orders to people in our group, cooks forgot our orders, we waited two hours for some things. The staff made no attempt to make it right. We will not recommend this place or go back to it. Ver carta

Great location. In the middle of town. Still very quiet. Very individual. Everything's perfect. Rooms, service. Very good breakfast. Delicious dinner. It's hardly any better. Thank you for the very personal care. We're coming back!

This is one of the few places in Jena that I can recommend without restriction. The dishes are very fine and cooked to the point. If I need a culinary change or if I want to pamper my palate again, this is my first choice. Thanks also to the super service. Always accommodating, friendly and fast.

Beautiful gastronomy, nice operation, fast operation, choice of dishes not huge, but sufficient clarity, for this great selection of alcoholic drinks, cozy ambience in the house, in summer there is also the possibility to sit outside and the prices are human. We were at a little wedding party in the Bohlenzimmer. The atmosphere was great, the service was very friendly and the food tasted very good. Overall, the atmosphere in this lovingly restored house is positively original and the building is a small wonder box. From the outside it looks small, inside it then shows its true size. In any case highly recommended.

Charmingly renovated home from some previous century. Many nooks and crannies for interior seating, plus a nice leafy outdoor area. Menu is quite nice, varied, definitely vegetarian-friendly as claimed in its Trip Advisor listing. We ate there twice and had the same server both times,...fellow named Kaj (pron. Kye), a warm and gracious soul with excellent English. Lovely meals both times. (Warning about the trout: expect bones. Otherwise excellent

We were with a large group and had the buffet. The cold starters were Ok but the choice was very limted. The dessert was chocolate mousse with fresh fruit so can't really go wrong with that. The main course (warm food) was very disappointing. It...seemed like it had been sitting there for a long time and was very over done. There was a soup as well but I didn't have it. The seating arrangement was a bit akward for a group. Service was slow and not particularly good. Ver carta
