"Went last week/ week before (roughly lovely food and lovely view of river Fowey. We didn’t book a table but staff got us one straight away with no fuss which was fab!! , speedy service, did check backs, staff seemed experienced as you don’t have to ask for anything they just know when to come over which was fab, decor was lovely and furniture was comfy even the napkins felt nicer than other brewery pubs definitely must be a tourist favourite don’t really write reviews unless a place is very very good and this place is definitely worth a visit!! but can imagine they get very busy so booking a table is probably best for next time !! (Went at lunch time during hail So was very happy to be able to get a table our thanks to haveners !! :"

Excellent food and really good service. We were looking for somewhere that was dog friendly while on holiday and it was perfect. Fully recommend, great meal and a lovely atmosphere.

Popped in for coffee and cake. Dog and human friendly. Staff were welcoming, coffee and cake was lovely. Would have returned for dinner but they were fully booked. The inside was a nice modern bistro style, with views out over the estuary. Located next to the Polruan passenger ferry landing.

The restaurant isn't as impressive as it used to be, with a much more limited menu now. I ordered the fish and chips but regretted it as the batter was overcooked and the chips were too thick. However, the mushy peas were delightful, with a hint of mint, and the tartar sauce was good too. They have a decent selection of wine. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the ambiance was nice with beautiful views of the estuary. Ver carta

On Saturday evening at 8:30 PM, we arrived at the restaurant and had to wait less than 10 minutes for a table, which was no trouble as we enjoyed a drink while we waited. We ordered mussels, steak, a burger, and hake, all of which were cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. The service was outstanding. To our pleasant surprise, the restaurant also welcomed dogs. I would definitely recommend this place and will be returning for another meal!

During our holiday in Fowey on a stormy, rainy weekend, we decided to stop by Haverners for a break. We brought along our labradorite who received a warm welcome. We ordered four cream teas, and they were fantastic, featuring delicious scones generously topped with clotted cream and jam. The tea was authentically Cornish, made with proper loose leaves! The waitress was incredibly helpful, providing directions to a local shop and telling us about a wonderful butcher and delicatessen where we could purchase the same scones we enjoyed. I can't recommend this place enough. It was truly superb!

"My girlfriend and I dined at this restaurant on a Monday evening, which is not typically a busy day. However, we arrived at 6:30pm and it was the last available table! The front of house manager greeted us warmly and handled a small issue with our reservation effortlessly. We were seated in a cozy area and offered drinks while our table was prepared. We quickly received glasses of Prosecco along with the menus, and they asked about any allergies—I mentioned my dairy intolerance which they noted. Soon after, we were led to our table with a beautiful view of the estuary, where our wine was waiting. A lovely amuse bouche and bread (with butter and oil for me) were served to start. My partner enjoyed a sweet potato foam, while I had a smoked salmon and caper dish (dairy-free). Both were delicious. Our smoked mackerel starters were equally delightful, one with a dairy foam and one without. Our main courses arrived in a timely manner and were both beautifully presented—roast cod for me and chicken breast for my partner. The dishes were all delicious. We finished our meal with an Irish coffee and a panna cotta, both of which were superb. Overall, it was an outstanding dining experience with impeccable service. Many Michelin-starred restaurants could take notes from the Old Quay House. We can't wait to return.
