"We drove from London to meet friends and chose this pub as the ambience looked good. We booked a table for 4 beforehand. On arrival we saw a gentleman sit down at our reserved table the bar tender said that we had booked the table. I apologised to the man but received a glare and a grump. I guess he and his wife and dog are locals and get fed up with visitors taking up their space. Again I apologise to him! Our friends arrived and having not seen them for many years we were very animated in conversation but not to much to notice the great food that was delivered the Moules had been delivered direct from sea that morning and they were so delicious probably the best I have ever eaten. Other dishes bought were equally delicious. The beer apparently was also good as my husband drank 4 pints. So when in Fowey pop in! Oh and I love the fact that dogs are allowed after all they are part of the fabric which makes Fowey so special."

We enjoyed some fantastic meals at this restaurant. The pub grub menu was great and very satisfying. The portions were generous, and our favorites were the lasagne and fish and chips. The ambiance was cozy, with a warm fire and welcoming bar. It was exactly what we were hoping for.

Mmmmmm unless a dog lover and love them in the restaurant area dont bother. Having lovely food in lovely surrounding then dogs arrive .... Damp and smelly and another shaking skin in the air, where it lands, cover up your food! Totally spoiled why dont others see it..... Animals and restaurant eating don't go together its been like that since Noah. Other people's okays are not mine. Ver carta

Fowey was very quiet on a Friday lunch time in mid December, so no shortages of places to eat. We chose the Ship having not been in for a few years. It was empty but so was the Lugger and i suspect other pubs. The barman was friendly, there was a lovely fire and we had the pick of the tables so sat in the front window seat. We had a light lunch with drinks, and it was very good and plentiful. Such a pleasure compared to the main holiday season!

This restaurant review of the Ship Inn describes it as a lovely pub with a good atmosphere, a friendly landlord, and delicious food. The reviewer enjoyed a burger with bacon and cheese, made with meat from the local butcher that melted in their mouth, and homemade chips that were very tasty. Their wife also loved the veggie lasagne. They highly recommend the Ship Inn for its great value home-cooked food and beautiful character. They plan on returning in the future.

I had steak, he had salmon. They were both amazing. The pub was buzzing with a lovely pre-Christmas vibe and the service was efficient and friendly. Our food came quickly and it was perfection. The steak was perfectly cooked (medium) and seasoned to perfection with garlic and thyme. Accompanied by salad (I asked for salad instead of peas), chips, delicious cherry tomatoes and onion rings. His salmon was amazing too, with saute potatoes, gorgeous veg and a lush hollandaise. Ver carta

The Ship has been through a few tenants over the years, delighted to see it in such capable hands now. It's a lovely warm venue, plenty of character and charm. There's a really good selection of drinks, draft beers, gins all sorts to cater for most tastes. The steak I had, sourced from kittows next door, was absolutely first class. Really good piece of meat, well cooked and worth the money. On the vine tomatoes, home made onions rings all showed they care about what they serve. My wife's veggie lasagne was excellent too. A really excellent experience and look forward to spending my money here again

The inn is located in a bustling high street by the water, steeped in history. The seagulls may be a disturbance for light sleepers, but the overall experience is worth it. The village church bell chiming every hour made for a restless night. Upon check-in, the host at the bar seemed indifferent. The room was pleasant, though the private bathroom advertised online was located across a creaky hall. This was inconvenient after dining at Sam's restaurant. The shower, although aesthetically pleasing, was too small for taller guests due to the low ceiling. A visitors log dating back centuries is a fascinating read. Breakfast and tea were both delicious.

"So let us share our experience, We went in tonight as a family after seeing that it home made food on the drive to sennen and looked online and had a good look at the food available on the menu also looking to see if it was dog friendly and it ticked all the boxes, Upon arrival me and my wife went in 1st to ask if we could have a table for food and if dogs can go inside and staff were a little unsure but they confirmed we could upon asking for a table for 7 but one in a pram he said we don’t have the availability to cater I was looking at a table big enough and eventually said that this table was available whilst being seated we had 2 table one clean and the 2nd just been finished with so needed a clean but he came and cleaned both tables and he squirted the cleaner on a clean table and the over spray bounced off the table and went over our selfs then we were handed a menu freshly printed A4 paper thrown on the table (WET TABLE) so they stuck to the table upon agreeing what we wanted we went to the bar within 2-3 mins of being seated we knew what we wanted and when we asked for the meal it was OUT OF STOCK (Sunday lunch) ok fair so as I was with a family member at the bar I quickly rushed back to the table to ask my daughter of an alternative she wasn’t happy, So I made a meal up of all the extras on the menu so I went back to the bar to find my family member ordered 2 fish and chips then I realised my wife also wanted Sunday lunch so I quickly rushed back to ask her what she wanted and went back to the bar just as my family member left and asked for fish and chips was also sold out also! 99% of the menu was SOLD OUT this should of been discussed upon arrival not as we were ordering I run and operate my own business and this isn’t how I would treat my customers this isn’t how an establishment should be ran! Even when I was standing trying to order a member of staff was standing there arm against the wall doing nothing while customers are standing waiting to be served! So we decided not to eat and my family member went back to the bar to ask for a refund as we couldn’t eat as a family and the staff were iffy about offering a refund but 10 minutes later they did refund my family member as it became a scene for other people as they could see what had happened! This establishment should be call the 1st and late time you come here! We ended up walking to the chip shop down the road for food we are very disappointed in this company and establishment! For anyone who wants to eat please make sure they HAVE STOCK how can this establishment run without stock? Never again tonight they lost over £200 revenue due to this situation!"
