"Stopped here following a walk on Shoreham beach, and the weather was perfect. Busy little cafe, with limited seating. (3 tables outside 4 tables inside) Nice array of cakes and savoury options, at reasonable prices. Good drink selection, nice coffee. Young staff were very polite and helpful."

I always enjoy visiting Hector's. The service makes me feel like a friend and the food and coffee are also excellent.

The sandwiches and cakes are delicious. The only downside is that the seating area is small. However, the food is excellent.

Lovely place for a great breakfast. Both had Hector's Breakfast, one was Gluten Free, and we were both impressed. In the best part of town near the church. We'll be back.

Thought would stop off for a coffee but found staff to be very rude, cancelled the order and chose a different coffee shop close by. There's many to choose from. won't be a returning local. Manners cost nothing.

This charming restaurant is the perfect spot to visit in Shoreham. Tucked away from the busy high street near the church yard, it serves the best gluten-free cake I've had in a long time. Not only that, but the portion size was generous as well!

"Whilst wondering this lovely little town, we wondered what we should grab to eat. We thought we would play it safe by going to a non-commercial but traditional Italian restaurant. However, whilst the menu may feel like you’re sitting in Italy, there is nothing safe...about the quality of this food! I should first of all acknowledge just how receptive and warming they were to the fact that we had two infants who were part of our party. They did everything they can to make sure that they were smiling as much as we were, and able to squeeze in our buggy and luggage accordingly. The food though was absolutely delicious. The folded garlic and cheese balls to start were absolutely delicious, and oozing of salty chewiness. However both of the monk fish main courses that came out were absolutely outstanding, with very fleshy and generously portion size pieces of fish. The veal Milanese was perfectly crispy and moist in the middle. The infant size pizza was generous portion size. All of it was cooked fresh and served warm. The only thing which frustrated me was the lack of wine options that you can order by the glass. I do understand why restaurants don’t make all of their wines available, but as the only one drinking I would have liked more than just a Pino for white wine options. But this isn’t a restaurant for alcohol, this is a restaurant for well cooked food for all occasions. If I am in the area again I would easily eat here"

"we have eaten here before and the food was pleasant enough and last night we were here with 2 friends, we ordered, whistle, and tempoura garnel, followed by makrele with a “bbq” sauce, dover sole and mönchsfisch with a “seedy” sauce. where should I start? it was quite wrong with some of the courts. the garnels were nice, the muscheln were ok, but the sauce was not great, but that was ok. When it came to the net, our chips were forgotten and therefore came a bit late - even that would have been in order, but the makrele dish was not good, the “bbq” sauce tasted strongly from orange! our friend likes zitrus really and since this was not mentioned on the menu the makrele was also very dry. I had the mönchsfisch satay and expected a spicy erdnus sauce, instead the fish was covered with lime leaf, which I strongly dissimilar - not mentioned on the menu again and the satay sauce was insipid. the Dover sole was very good. we were asked if we enjoyed the meal and so polite feedback was offered that these aromen were mentioned on the menu, as they were the dominant aromen of the feeds. the owner continued to argue with us - she was exceptionally rude and told me I obviously don't like strong aromes! she also asked me to ask if I ate the court! she continued to argue very rude and told us that it was obviously not for us (the restaurant). that's true! we have eaten in many restaurants of all standards and have never been treated like this! our evening was completely ruined - not because of the food, but because of the rudeness of the owner. we paid the bill and left. our friends have eaten a lot in the past, but unnecessary to say, none of us will go again."
