Went for early valentines. Food was dissapointing and expensive. Staff seemed bored. Not a great experience.

The service was terrible and the food was flavorless. Despite being recommended by the Rough Guide as one of the top dining spots in Sterling, it turned out to be the worst experience.

Surroundings and food excellent. Extremely accommodating. Goats cheese salad yum as was the pate. Mains Salmon and schnitzel both delicious. Would recommend lovely peaceful environment!

My partner and I decided to have a spontaneous dinner at a restaurant we had never been to before. We received excellent service as soon as we walked in, and the food was absolutely outstanding. I highly recommend this place!

This restaurant has a German theme throughout its menu. The staff are friendly and the food is excellent. Prices are reasonable, although it is not a budget-friendly option. They offer a nice selection of drinks and are conveniently located near Stirling Castle.

We loved the Austrian/Scottish fusion. The food is really good. We were seated in the conservatory at the back of the restaurant while the tables in the main restaurant were occupied by a coach party. So we had the luxury of their entrainment of a piper and the eclectic mixture of their tour guides and coach drives on a table close to us. The waitress are a delight.

We popped in without a booking, after visiting the castle. They were able to accommodate our family of four, but did turn some away, so best to book ahead. We were blown away by the food and service here. The staff was friendly and the meal was one of my favorites, while on holiday. The goat cheese salad was incredible, as was the chocolate mousse. We enjoyed our salmon as well.

Visiting from Hawaii, we are always excited to find schnitzel on the menu. After reading the great reviews we opted to try it. On our second attempt at reservations, we were able to get in. We were NOT disappointed. We had both schnitzels and even though they were both wonderful, the wiener schnitzel was a favorite! The risotto was also amazing. The staff was top notch they promptly took care of our every need. Highly recommend!

Went on the off-chance they could fit us in early and the owner said yes, but we were in among a big coach party. That said, the service was prompt and food served quickly. We had soup and Cullen skink for starters, followed by veal schnitzel and chicken cordon bleu for mains. The quality of the food was amazing. You could tell it was all freshly prepared and cooked. We left just as the entertainment for the coach party started but would definitely go back and stay longer another time.
