Super friendly v funny waitress. Great, fresh tasting food. Good sized dishes too. Good value wine. Faultless!!!

This is one of the best Thai restaurants I've been to, and yes I've been to Thailand (and Thai restaurants in San Francisco, New York, Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro, and Miami). Nice people, delicious food, reasonable prices.

The set lunch price is amazing at £7/8. But you soon see why. Meals arrived 15mins apart. Both were cold. All very slow. Portions were on the small side. All a bit of a shame as the food was tasty. They should charge £10 get more staff.

I ordered the coconut milk soup and a satay dish. What was supposed to be a simple basic lunch turned out to be the highlight of my day. The soup was loaded with chicken, lime leaves, chili, galangal root… it was just delicious and I savored the flavours. The satay was perfect and I ate all the leftover sauce with the rice. I plan to return tonight with my family. Honestly the best Thai food I’ve experienced outside of Thailand, and easily my favorite find in Richmond.

I've enjoyed eating at Hilltribe more times than I can count. Whilst Richmond boasts more Thai restaurants than you can shake a spring roll at, Hill Tribe is undoubtedly the best in terms of food, service and value. The dishes are fresh, spicy, cooked to order and two courses at lunchtime will only set you back £8, or a little more if you want to add a bottle of Singha to your order. The complimentary Thai Crackers are incredibly moreish, what more do want from a meal...

We are going to Hilltribe for the last 15 years and still enjoy it as much as on the first visit. The food is always excellent and very tasty. The service is always friendly and attentive. Miss O in the kitchen is a fabulous chef who knows how to create perfect dishes. A few years ago she left and we saw and tasted it immediately. Luckily she came back and we get our favourite Thai food again. The restaurant is cosy and always has a nice atmosphere. The two course lunch menu is the best value for money you can get. We highly recommend Hilltribe for lunch and dinner.

Small, intimate and welcoming. Sabai, sabai. Wine list has but 20 or so bins but each is a well-chosen example of lesser known wines from the world of wines. Great value. Thai beers but no Thai wines! One or two Thai vineyards are doing great things in the Khai Yai region. Need to address that oversight as well as niggles concerning sub-par rice (not prime grade hom mali) and an overcooked egg atop of Thai staple, kow-phat-guy, kai-dow (Thai fried rice). Front of house and kitchen work hard, delivering good value Thai cuisine that's knocking on the door of a tip-top experience food-wise. Not there yet, but deserves a visit nonetheless. Popular with locals, etc.
