"Prior to my visit to this hidden eatery, I had read several blogger reviews —notably in Berlinfoodstorries, I will never believe that fellow again— about this « truly authentic Korean » place, their kimchi pancakes to die for, their marinated squid and pork on a table-top stove....Well, fortunately the check was just euros for three, pints of beer and a large bottle of water included. Perhaps my mistake was to think that Korean food was actually a simpler version of Japanese cuisine with « kimchi » added. I was wrong. At Hodori we were the only non-Korean patrons in the place PM, the place closes at The lighting, the setting, the half open kitchen, the group of Korean millennials (some with dyed blonde hair), all looked authentic enough. The signature dish of the kimchi pancakes was actually a deepfried thick pancake cut into squares, tasty if you like your food oily. Tubes of squid and thin slices of pork smothered in what we later understood was their own homemade hot ketchup, were, mixed together and cold, dumped on a plate heated by a table-top stove... and you had to cook it yourself. The squid was chewy from the start, the pork raw. After of cooking the pork was cooked and the squid had turned into unedible rubber. If they would have separated the ingredients, something tasty might have come out of it, perhaps. Who knows? A friend had the marinated hot beef which sent us into a wave of Ostalgia, food from former East Germany: gray. With white slivers of onion. Recommended to teach food snobs (like myself) a lesson: why wander far off the beaten path, only to understand that eating **** is a waste of time? Staff was friendly for Korean standards. And the kimchi was fine. We haven’t tried their famous soups at € during lunchtime (until PM) and frankly, we’re not going to. December"

Have been there multiple times, really enjoy the food there, delicious, authentic, cheap and comes in large portion. Service can be a bit slow, but neh, food matters more.

I love this restaurant so much! I always go there for special events or if i want to treat myself. i would recommend you try the Bolgogi dish! the only bad thing here is the service, but this is typical to Berlin.

I was in this restaurant and had the opportunity to eat my lunch in an informal and cozy atmosphere. typical eating was served by gentle staff. I recommend it for who wants to try Asian, because it is cheap and not bad!

I had dinner with a friend here and the place was packed, mostly with Asians, always a good sign that the place is for real when not in Asian countries. We had the beef table grill, which comes with a bunch of sides, like kimchi...and the sort, and a bowl of rice. The service wasn't the best, but quick. The place is a bit gritty, but adds to the authenticity.

very shameful restaurant with super terrible service. the waiter let us wait for the menu and even we went to ask, he just said ok and let us wait. at this time was not busy at all and eating is much less than before. this restaurant has no window, very smelling inside and the Chinese woman (I think she is the manager) always stares at people who feel uncomfortable to me. please don't come here!

low quality eating and shameful respect for the customer. they asked me to pay the euro by cash, and because I didn't have that money in my pocket, they asked me to find a cash machine to withdraw. they told me that they only accept payments with credit card if they have to pay more than euro, unbelievable. over, the meal we have ordered were definitiv low in terms of quality, taste and presentation. never again. I suggest you stay far away from this place.

the place is very basic, which improves its authenticity. the ventilation is also not the best, so be prepared that their clothes remind them of where they eat the evening at a day before. we started with a bibimpap. it was nice in a hot stone...Bowl served, a layer crispy rice on the bottom. Maybe a bit underheated, but some hot sauce corrected that. the main dish was a Bulgogi ranch. When I expected a table grill and meat pieces, I was surprised that the pan was already filled with meat, mushrooms, planks and glass noodles. However, we managed to cook it pretty well and it was at the end delicious. not very cheap; we paid for two dishes, a beer and water.

The food here is fantastic. I came here with a group of friends and we shared a bunch of different BBQ dishes. the beef was exceptional as was the shrimp. The pork was also excellent and I was told that the pork belly was also...good. There can be absolutely no complaints about the food. That said, the complaints about service are pretty accurate. While the food came pretty quickly, they forgot a drink order and we had to ask for utensils. But, as long as you come prepared for this, there is absolutely no reason not to have a great time. I should add that the restaurant was absolutely packed when we were there and there were people waiting on a line that stretched out the door when we arrive...
