Very relaxed. Food very good enjoyed the night. So relaxed that the waitress didn't listen to orders. My friend ordered rhubarb crumble for desert as it is her favourite. When it arrived it was blueberry and apple crumble.

I stayed at this restaurant while attending a course at the nearby university. The place was well-maintained and cozy. The bed was comfortable and I had a pleasant stay. It was conveniently located near local shops and attractions. I plan to stay here again in October. Thank you.

Although only a small pub it has 3 guests rooms at the back, we only wanted overnight but from booking to leaving staff were helpful and friendly. The rooms are not massive, but OK for short stay, Clean, warm, comfortable with tea/coffee/biscuits, toiletries and face flannel provided, limited hanging space above a chair, but with clean towels and under floor heating followed by a marvellous full english breakfast, a great place to stay.

I witnessed a disturbing incident at this restaurant where a female customer was verbally abused by her husband. I approached the lady to see if she was okay, but she assured me it was fine as she was a regular. I was asked to leave after defending her. This type of behavior should never be tolerated, but it seems that the establishment values reputation over basic decency. If you enjoy the company of narrow-minded locals, then this pub may be the place for you. However, if you value respect and decency, I would suggest avoiding it.

I recently used delivery from WowSo during the COVID-19 pandemic and ordered garlic mushrooms, onion rings, chicken burger, Grooms burger, fish cakes, and chips. It was the best takeaway I have ever had. The chips were crispy, hot, and fresh. The burgers were amazing and the fish cakes were fabulous. The mushrooms and onion rings were crispy and amazing. I almost wish I lived in Holbeach so I could order from them more often. The delivery was on time and amazing. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to return. I have eaten in the restaurant many times and have never been disappointed. Thank you for restoring my faith in takeaway food.

We are stating in holbeach for a couple of nights for a bit of a getaway. After our Indian last night hubby was feeling steak. So we had seen that the horse and groom were offering a limited menu and they even had a sign in the window showing kitchen times. After a couple of beers in another pub we headed down to the pub for our eagerly anticipated steaks. On entering we asked if food was being served as we couldn't smell anything nor was anyone eating, we were told quite abruptly that food wasn't being served until a week Monday and that they were only accepting cash. This pub has three nicely refurbished rooms in the old stables behind the car park. We did not feel they were terribly good value for money at £70 a night plus breakfast. They are quite small and had underfloor heating which seemed impossible to switch off, it kept coming on even though the controller was set to off. So it was very hot in the room for sleeping and the location straight on the car park meant you could not leave the door or window open.It could also be quite noisy as it’s located right next to the pub’s outside area so every time someone drunk comes out to smoke they are yelling at each other. Came here as own hotel nearby was not providing dinner. A fairly ordinary looking place but an extraordinary dining experience! Home made soup was delicious and I then chose the beef salad. I was unsure what to expect but wow!….steak cooked to perfection, ample shavings of parmesan on a bed of great salad with just the right amount of balsamic dressing. I ordered chips too and out they came, each as thick as your thumb and just perfectly cooked! (Amazing how many ‘chefs’ can balls up chips! Five of us went for a birthday lunch which had been booked for three weeks. We had booked for 1pm and arrived at 12.30 for pre meal drinks. The pub wasn 't busy but the service was very slow. We sat down, looked at the menu and I went to order the meal at 12.50. I was told in an abrupt manner that I couldn 't order because it wasn 't 1pm !!! 1pm came and went so I went to see where the staff were.
