Wonderfully classic old school estate grounds, building and interior perfectly matched our expectations. A recent hotel review adversely commented on this old school atmosphere... we simply loved it and will return to stay. Pleasant, efficient and well trained restaurant staff. We chose to eat from the table d’hote menu and found it excellent both in quality and value. Looking forward to a return visit in the New Year. Highly recommended."

Location overcame everything else. Lovely place, food moderate, but it’s about 10 miles away from Lewes. Very unimpressed when we arrived for our weekend and assumed we could walk there.

We went here for our Emerald Wedding Anniversary (55 years) with some friends, they really looked after us, giving us a separate room for us, it was really elegant and they looked after us so well, the service was immaculate but so understated. The food...was perfect as always.

Four of us booked two nights in two suites with breakfast and evening meals last Sunday until Tuesday. The hotel is one of the best we have stayed in. The food was very good and plenty of it and the staff couldn't have been more...helpful. The suites were of a high standard, in fact the whole hotel was first class. We will definately go back.

we had 2 nights in the hotel for the high time of my daughter, so we had 2 breakfasts, a la carte dinner and a high-time breakfast. in all places, the food and the service were exemplary. a big bonus was the availability of severn and...Wye smoked salmon. this has long been my favorite smoky salmon and it is highly recommended, thanks for the portions!
