Hotel Restaurant Costes

I visited this restaurant twice and the food and service was very good. An interesting setting right around the corner from my B&B.

This cozy restaurant is amazing. You have a fabulous garden where you can also dine with a cozy fun room inside. The food is sensational and the wines are well adapted to the food. The menu is simple and divine. Beautifully presented and delicious....Make some room for dessert, the cream caramel was organic!

Bad behavior, the restaurant manager disregards its customers and behaves in a humble and respectless way. When we arrived, the restaurant was not full at 00:30 and because we arrived two more people than the reservation did not allow us to stay...out. I was in many prestigious places in my life and I never experienced anything like that.

Dinner was from 19:30h. I was first to order as there were 4 others in a group and later 2 more customers. I do not know the situation with the Chef, however as he knew I would be ordering a vegetarian dish, a potato omelet,...it still took some time. I was very tasty and fresh when it did arrive. Montsegur has no shops that I saw were open, so I must say that what the Chef produced, was excellent.

In the village at the foot of the extroadinary last Cathar stronghold Montségur, Hotel Costes welcomes pilgrims and visitors with excellent vin rosé and well cooked very tasty dishes, including vegetarian and vegan choices. Try the mixed pepper cutlets, the huge salads and home cooked...(excellent) French fries. The new owner from Bordeaux has breathed new life into this restaurant, respectful of the Cathar traditions. His depiction of the Cathar prayer is a photo I have on my phone to read often.

After tripping up to the castle in my flip flop sandals (walking shoes at the front door of the house didn't make it to the car) I desperately needed a victory lunch and found this lovely haven. The service was a bit dodgy ...eye contact hard to get with the busy waitress. Half of the dishes on the menu were sold out, leaving not much choice. However, when we did get our food it was delicious, fresh and copious. Lovely setting and would certainly recommend this place just don't be in a hurry and let yourself de stress.....

Merci Patrice This is a charming, well-run restaurant in the heart of the village. It is a great place for lunch after climbing Montségur and immersed in the history and energies of this holy place. Our group liked vegetarian and vegan options, estimated soy milk cappuccinos and the good selection of organic sulfite free wines on the menu.

There was nothing open in the village, and lots of hungry walkers so we were lucky to get a table before the chef called a halt to more customers. There were only 14 diners so not sure what the issue was. We waited over an...hour for our meal warm goat cheese salad and omelette (food of choice for most there) so not exactly demanding in the culinary skills. But we and all other diners happily passed the time by watching the reaction whenever anyone got their meal of gargantuan proportions. So warning, expect a field of greens if you order the large salad. A little pricy for what you got.

On Thursday for lunch. Despite only another couple, it seemed to be a problem that we chose a table in the shade. After we ordered food and served drinks, we were informed that they did not accept cards only cash or cheques.... We only had enough money to buy a child meal for my son who seemed to annoy the cook (which we assumed was the owner. There was another family that faced the same issue. Another couple came to tell them that they could not sit in the table they wanted (if it was not reserved and there was plenty of space on the terrace.
