Howan Fish Chips Chinese

We're never going back there again. The egg fried rice is tasteless, soggy mush, and the sweet and sour chicken balls hadn't been cooked through. The dough was still raw in the middle.

We tried the fish and chips from this takeaway and they were excellent. This was our first time getting Chinese takeout (meal for two) and it was fantastic. We couldn't find any faults with it, it was the best.

I only ordered a special Chow Mein and most of it was overcooked. The prawns were okay, but the rest of the meal was terrible. Despite being loyal customers for years, we will not be returning to this restaurant.

First time we have used thims takeaway it certainly wont be the last i have wasted my time with certain places in Newbury town centre that dont hold a candle to this place one of the best takeaway chinese ive had in my life please...try !!!!!!

The worst ever food we have ever had, most of the reviews on here are years old or false. Food is cooked hours before and deep fried when you go in. You have been warned try Kings in Thatcham or anywhere else and do yourself...a medical favour!!

The crispy seaweed was slimy and gooey, something I have never seen before. The satay was disgustingly salty, causing our lips to burn and forcing us to throw it away. The chow menu was bland and the meat was fatty. Overall, the food was terrible and expensive. We will never be returning.

we typically use this takeaway once by 15 clock or so, and have this for years also during the pandemic. eating is consistently good, well cooked and tasty. we have made a mix of Chinese and Thai and I would recommend them all. how reasonable price and good value to take along as traditional. I would go so far to say that we never had a disappointing meal here, so they try it!

After hearing that this place was back to its old ways, thought we would give it a try last night. The only thing they succeeded at, was for me to never go back. Spring roll content was around 98% bean sprout, 2% chicken and was...just greasy. Satay sauce for the chicken... Not actually sure what that was... Rice... solid, thinking about buying a few hundred to build a house. Ribs... Mmmm. So dry even a dog would turn them down. Prawn crackers were passable though so not a complete loss.

Awfull just awfull used to be your average Chinese takeaway but what i got on the 28th August can’t even be described as food we had the mixed starter for 2 prawn toast was burned chicken was tasteless and rubbery seaweed had no salt was...like eating confetti rib had chunk of white fat and tiny bit off tasteless meat to be fair chicken curry was OK but the rice was disgusting hard and lumpt together spring rolls were sort of gooey with a string of something green in the middle (unidentifiable) never ever get take out from here again
