"a rare sunny day in edinburgh. what to do, but fly around in the outside world before eating a bit in the magnificent regency building that today houses howies waterloo? into the cave hall, with light through the magnificent period windows, s.o and I agreed that there are some dining rooms more beautiful than this in our messestadt. the charming waitress was over in a jiffy and liked to tell us about the early dining room offer we felt forced to take from. we accompanied our meal with a beautiful bottle of pink to mark the beginning of the summer that came with some beautiful brot with oil. the more I look, the more I appreciate the little hauch that the brot can offer at the beginning of the meal. it certainly contributed to the lazy day, the feeling that brings warm weather. our appetizers followed soon, baptismal breast with whistles for S.o and chicken liver parfait for moi. S.O loved the deaf and now never gives a chance to order. my parfait was good, completely smooth and tasty, it had me the feeling that I sat in the south france, which shimmered in the heady midday heat and then I opened my eyes and looked the gray, tourist loaded streets of edinburgh. but hey, I'm eating. the mains were not almost so divine. S.O flew for the salmon shell (unusual for him to choose the fish option) and I went for the bun. neither the court was completely satisfied and managed to land the inspicuous accusation of 'filled the place'. under-seasoned, under-concrete, underwhelming. but our meal went so swimming that we thought we would extend the beautiful late lunch by testing their pudding menu. in the Provencal spirit we split with spoons a rhabarb pannacotta. at this weekend, I have dug the rhubarbs in my garden to restore the delicious and stupid desert. texture and taste combined to make a really fantastic powder, perfect with the pink wee we rinsed down. overall, it was a roller-closed trip of excellent straight and moderate netzen. the stunning interiors and the excellent service were however of so high quality that s.o and I in our appreciation that this is one of the best restaurants of edinburgh, unusually agreed."

to dinner. platz is smart casual with the cusine scottish influenced. had the muddles that were beautiful the cunning skin that was very delicious. through enjoyable meal, inexpensive, personal attentive to check whether they are in the city.

Good lunch. Just went to Howie's for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The menu was varied and had something for everyone, the food was well cooked and the service was excellent. The set priced lunch is really good value at £8.95. Will go back again anytime. Ver carta

my friend led me before 2 weeks to Howies,Waterloo Place,Edinburgh and I enjoyed it so much I took my man with to taste it culinary delights. eating is simply delicious with something that suits every taste and the presentation is perfect. the workers know very well about the food and very attentive without being too persistent. Finally, the lunch contract is great for the price.

the eating here was good, we had her set dinner for 2 courses for 20 pfund, although we had to add an additional 2 and 7 pfunds, for the beginning of the day and lamb rump. the food was well seasoned, meat or fish were not overcooked or too dry, calamari was not oily, and we enjoyed the makrele pate. more reasonable price overall. we point out that the customer service of our server was below the average, but it was highly chatted and clearly friendly with the table next to us.

Value for money is an understatement!. I review restaurants part time in my hometown of Chester, I've eaten in some good value restaurants but this takes the biscuit at lunchtimes. £6.99 for two courses, most of the main courses for lunch are this price or above usually! We had a beautiful Cullen Skink (local fish soup) and a Haggis Neeps and Tatties starter, (a twist on a classic), then fishcakes with a poached egg and spinach, and a beef and venison burger. The food was delightful, authentic Scottish food with a modern twist in lovely surroundings. Everyone raves about the Grassmarket branch but this was equally good on this occasion. the restaurant is located in a great location, right at the entrance to the calton hill, in a beautiful building and is with a very impressive dining room in the interior. the room must be 8 10m high, so offers a really great atmosphere. Note that there are a few tables in the lobby area, so they want to double check that they do not have any of them if they want the full experience. menu was very interesting and gave a real challenge about what to choose I think I need to back some time. also the specials are big, which is not always the case. everything we ordered was perfectly presented and very well prepared. service was attentive, professional and very friendly. relaxed elegance, wonderful eating. as a Canadian visitor in edinburgh we looked at this evening the last minute for a cheap restaurant in the new city with Scottish cuisine. howies appeared pretty a wise down urban spoon’s list, but it should be at the top. the room on waterloo place is nice, the service was friendly and gracious, and the eating was great. we had the haggis, neeps and tatties starter, followed by the venison (mr. and the lachs (I. sticky toffee (him and a summer earthy pudding (me for dessert). everything was nice, and although our stay in the city will be short, we want to eat in howies again before we go. a last postscript: the Howies website promised that casual attire w...
