"What a lovely place this is.Situated in a wonderful location in the Forest of Dean. Very homely welcome and atmosphere, great staff and the food is amazing and at a reasonable price. We called in for lunch having visited the evening before and were not disappointed. Taste, quality and service all first class! Food drinks: Tasty well cooked and presented food in a lovely restaurant at reasonable prices, served by lovely staff. Service: 5"

"The staff was very friendly, and the menu offered great options at reasonable prices. However, the dessert menu could use some more variety. The restaurant was a bit too warm, and the tables could be spaced out better. Overall, I will definitely visit again. Thank you!"

"We visited the Dog and Muffler 3 times during a week's stay at a local campsite. We received a recommendation from the workers at the campsite. The manager (we didn't get his name) bent over backwards to accommodate our son's dietary requirements. Nothing was too much. We had an evening meal on our first night and it was all lovely. We returned with more family members (7 of us) for a Sunday lunch and it was fantastic. I had the lamb and I'd recommend it for anyone. Our third visit was just after the kitchen had closed but they still rustled up some of the starters for us. You won't wander past the Dog and Muffler, it takes a bit of finding but it's food, service, cleanliness and decor are a large step above an ordinary pub. Thank you Mike, Saara, Aneiran and Vader"

"The service was friendly and the food reasonably priced but it was a dirty place. It obviously had not been cleaned for a long time. The windows were especially filthy. On the wall, a food hygiene rating of 3 (out of 5) was displayed. I’d say that was generous. My food had a hair in it so they didn’t charge for that meal. Came away feeling slightly sick. The location is nice, especially for walks along the river and through the woods."

"My mother and I popped by during I stay in Coleford and it was so good we came back the next night!The food was amazing, all handmade with speedy service at such a good price! There are over 30 tapas options and each one is delicious!We also had the ritm house cocktail which is a must have tasty one!All staff were lovely, the young lad serving us checked on us throughout our meal and they were friendly! The chef made sure our food was good and cooked it all freshly where we could see it in an open kitchen.The atmosphere reminds me of holidaying in Spain, Spanish music and well decorated too!If you are in Coleford this is a must eat place with amazing service and great atmosphere!Side note: highly recommended the filo pastry tapas dishes as well as the garlic cheese mushrooms and nachos!"
