"Visited the restaurant last night with 2 friends. It was very busy,we were squeezed on a table opposite the til and had to ask the people on the table to the side of us to move to let us in. Very cramped. The restaurant was extremely full yet very cold. My back was freezing all night. The food was at best mediocre I am afraid. I had mushroom and leek pie, extremely dry and hard to cut and tasteless to be honest, said came with roast potatoes but it was served with new potatoes. My friend had some sort of cut of meat on mashed potatoes which was also dry with no sauce. My other friend had fish pie which was mainly mashed potatoes and not much fish. We ordered cheesecake and crumble to share between us. Cheesecake was good, lots of berries with it but the crumble was just fruit and custard, absolutely no crumble topping whatsoever. No one came to ask us how the food was or I would have made my feelings known and I couldn’t actually get out from the table to even ask for glasses for the water we had with our meal (as well as wine) we were not asked after we had eaten or during payment either. I asked for decaf coffee which was clearly not decaf and I was actually still awake at 3am as it was served at 9.30. This is very poor customer service, people order decaf for a reason and more care should be taken or the customer should be told you do not have any. This is not a cheap place to eat and the standard last night was poor. I live in Burbage but will definitely not be rushing back"

"visit the opposite and this restaurant was recommended to us. at the door greeted. beautiful clean restaurant and very courtesy and well presented staff. I can honestly say that this is the best food I have tasted and should not be missed when I look for a meal. when I return to this area I will visit this restaurant again."

"Now called Fourwards This restaurant serves beautifully tasty and presented food, high quality ingredients and all delicious. Unfortunately the experience doesn’t match the taste, the only menu is on the bar wall, which is not ideal when visiting in a medium to large group, with...elderly relatives or children. The reason was due to changing the menu daily, but why not buy individual boards for the three food areas rather than having it only once. There wasn’t a clear distinction between starters and mains and the price was scrawled on as an afterthought. There were no children’s options other than ‘smaller versions of some of the mains’ which were not much smaller and the charge was not clear on this. There was no cordial for the children either, what restaurant is unable to keep a couple of bottles of squash behind the counter? The atmosphere was lovely, the temperature of the rooms good and the facilities were great and really clean. Unfortunately we felt very unwanted, the staff were keen to chat to regulars but not those who have come in for a special occasion. It is understandable that there are ways the staff work but unfortunately these were quite rudely portrayed and didn’t accommodate on an individual basis. For a couple or a small groups of adults, this restaurant is fantastic, as above the food was incredible but it is not great for families wanting a special meal with multiple generations"

"We've been regular customers of Ponchinellos for 30 years but recently we've found it impossible to place an order by phone. You're now met with a recorded message from a nice Italian lady who says your call is in a queue but eventually you are directed to voicemail every single time. When you leave a message (we've left 3 in three weeks no response is received. We tried leaving an order and asked for a call back nothing. So today we thought we'd try again. We called six times between 12.30 and 4.00pm once again going through the answer phone rigmarole. We therefore decided to call in to place our order. We were told they were fully booked how do people book nowadays? It can't be by phone. My wife asked how we should order in future only for the manager (owner? to be extremely rude to my wife and unbelievably arrogant in refusing to answer because he was too busy making dough. Shame on you Ponchinellos, if someone asks a polite and perfectly reasonable question at least be professional and courteous enough to help."
