I have visited many Chinese restaurants from Soho to Hong Kong, but I have never experienced anything better than this in New York. The food is excellent, and the service is top-notch. I dined in for dinner and the price per person ranged from £70-80. I would rate the food and service a 5, while the atmosphere is a 3. I highly recommend trying the Special Fried Rice.

I had heard mixed reviews from friends and family about this restaurant, with some saying it was fantastic and others saying it was not so great. Unfortunately, my visit was a disappointment. The food was lacking in flavor and overall, not very good. However, the service was excellent. It was early in the week, so the restaurant was empty. I first visited this restaurant in 1983 as a 9-year-old. Back then Chinese cuisine was super-exotic and the Jade Fountain (as it was known then) was the only game in town. We loved it from the very first visit. Over the years, I must have been back at least a hundred times and I have never, ever been disappointed. The food is exceptional, the service flawless and the owner a wonderfully kind and friendly man. Our latest visit was as enjoyable as ever. My wife and I took our son (the 4th generation of our family to enjoy the Jade) and, as ever, the experience was delightful.
