"We visited Jade Gardens for an early dinner after antique hunting south of the Mersey, all the antique centres in Liverpool having closed by 5 pm. The restaurant was already busy when we arrived and by the time we left around 8 it was full. We ordered a banquet for three (refer to their menu for a list of all the dishes) and a few glasses of the house white wine (I can't remember the grape variety). The service was exceptionally friendly and efficient and nothing was too much trouble. There was no problem in substituting some dishes that contained chilli because one of my friend can't eat it. If you are visiting or staying in the Southport area and want a Chinese meal I would highly recommend that you drive the few miles to Ainsdale and visit Jade Gardens."

The food and service at this restaurant are consistently excellent, although prices have been gradually increasing. Despite this, it is still worth a visit, just perhaps not as frequently. The early bird menu offers great value for money. Ver carta

This Chinese restaurant is now my favorite spot. The service was excellent, with friendly and cheerful staff. The food was of high quality and we will definitely be returning. We had been wanting to try this place for a while and we're glad we finally did.

In my toughest times, Jade Gardens Chinese has always been a comforting presence. My wife and I used to visit every Thursday with our son Billy Mitchell, who would bring his friend Gareth Bobby Ferguson along. It brings a tear to my eye to remember our wonderful times at this restaurant. 10/10 rating from me.

We have visited here many times, and sampled many dishes and the food is consistently to a high standard. The ingredients are fresh and well cooked, and the staff are always so lovely and friendly. The salt and pepper chicken, char sui pork, chicken satay skewers, Kung Po chicken are all great dishes I could go on! Ver carta

Driving home from Southport looking for somewhere to have dinner we nearly passed this place as it looks like it was once a pub. Inside its very clean, has great staff and the food was excellent and good value. In fact the chicken and sweetcorn soup was high on our list of best evers! Overall a pleasant enjoyable refuelling stop if we are ever in that area again we'll be back!

Another visit to this great Chinese Restaurant. It runs like a well oiled clock. We had, chicken and sweetcorn soup, duck with pancakes and sweet and sour pork. The soup was hot, the duck cooked perfectly and the pork was the tenderest I have I ever had in a Chinese Restaurant. My only comment would be they were very very mean with the sweet and sour sauce, in hindsight I should have asked for more.

"Friday night is busy for most, I 'm sure. Appalled by the service in all honesty. Staff seem smug and unattentive. It 's too much trouble to tend your (paying) needs. To be fair.. I am mostly speaking of one particular staff member, but it appears he is the manager/lead server. I can 't differentiate as there were no introductions.. I 'm not bothered about that; necessarily, I 'm trying to stay mutual, but last night, I was so disappointed. Staff leaning over you to take plates without communication of their intentions. I 'm wondering what this place is trying to be, fine dining, or just a typical restaurant.. their attitudes claim they are of the finer sort (including the prices) Poppadoms are made to seem complimentary as you wait. But don 't worry, they will charge you.. there 's a real lack of transparency and connection between customers/staff.. I did enjoy the food somewhat, but It wasn 't brilliant.. I 've had better at the local indian takeaway, in all honesty. The receipt was confusing too (party of 10) It was very difficult to figure out the full costs per person as it was all mixed up. Whilst trying to calculate the costs per individual said staff member was hovering around and made it seem such an inconvenience, and we felt rushed. I believe I am very fair and I always give people multiple chances, but his service was unacceptable... everything was a problem for him. Perhaps it 's a difference of cultures, however, having travelled the world to a a varying degree I have never felt this way, most places have made me feel welcome and this one of the reviews I have left feeling so strongly about it. Every person of the party has shared the same view, so I am not only speaking for myself. He delegated as to how much rice or sides we should have 'as he had accounted for it all ' Which leads me to believe they are aiming for a more prestigious type establishment.. There are very few places that offer THAT type experience in Southport.. and this is not the place. I don 't want to appear angry as I enjoy experiencing all types of food/environments etc etc. But this wasn 't the experience I was led to expect. I haven 't contacted the restaurant yet, but I don 't even know if anything I say (in regards to this visit) will have any effect on their future projections. I hope it was just a busy day, and they were a bit troubled with what was going on.. if that is the case, I will 100% give them another chance and hope that they can treat whomever may enter their restaurant in a manner of which is exciting and enjoyable. After further inspection of the final bill, there were extra items added on said waiter had 'accounted ' for what we required, yet we had far too much rice and other various sides. For example.. if you order 4 beers, it should state 4x beers, But they seem to work it: 1x beer, 1 x rice , 1 x beer, 1x rice, 1x beer, etc etc (for example) Even though we ordered drinks initially, which should all be counted in chronological order. I still have the receipt but didn 't want to post a picture as I 'm sure I have said enough to give a little embarrassment. We were very disappointed and haven 't stopped talking about it since. Don 't have such high expectations and you won 't be disappointed.
