Jaipur - Menú

I had a mixed meat starter and a garlic chilli chicken with special rice. My partner had a onion bhaji (four of them) and lamb korma. Along with the nan bread we had to take a doggy bag as there was so much. Nice atmosphere, good service and tasty food. Would recommend.

A group of 8 of us were let down by another restaurant who prioritised greed over the customer experience by double booking and having no table available that’s for another review. Jaipur stepped in and got us seated the service and the food was to a very high standard but was also very good value, Jaipur and their staff rescued the night for us, highly recommend it

I wish I could've rated Jaipur higher because the food is great. But the service let us down on two key points (1) they didn't seem to have been ready for our pre booking and made us wait 10 mins while they got the table sorted; (2) their recently updated prices haven't made it on to the menus they gave us on the tables leading to some confusion. On the whole I'd still recommend Jaipur but they need to sort out these little inconsistencies.

Firstly, I give the restaurant full credit for the way they implemented covid safety (tables well spaced out, staff wearing masks, hand sanitizers available and when tables were vacated they were quickly cleaned down). But the food; every dish was unforgivably bland. I have had more spice in a bowl of cornflakes. When I mentioned it to the waiter he said I should have asked for more spice when I ordered the meal! Um, no, you call yourself an Indian restaurant so please serve up properly spiced Indian food.

Ordered takeaway for collection, don't usually order from here, I was under the impression that this was a nicer quality Indian and so was a special treat. Oh how I wish I could rewind time. I have been up all night with D&V. I feel so ill. I had prawn starter and mix of chicken korma and chicken rogan josh. The poppadoms were stale and would not snap, I should have known something was off. I've been put off curry and won't ever order from this Indian again. Heed my warning! I really regret eating their curry last night. I also know it was this curry as I had not eaten anything for the rest of the day.

I came here with my late husband for a last dinner date before our divorce, my husbands diabetic and asked for no sugar in his drinks and 2 ice cubes, a young cargo lady came over and took our order, half an hr later she comes with a drink thats dripping down her arms and when my husband drank he burped so loudly and shouted sugar. After we wamnted to order desserts and tea but we saw the young lady doing so called tiktoks with a dangerous candle, we got really frustrated and we repoted to the managers but he completely ignored us , and he was dancing infront of us with a candle , so we gave them a tenner left , good riddance!!!

With the restaurant having shut down for a number of weeks as part of Coronavirus lockdown it was with great expectation we ordered a takeaway on their reopening (for takeaway only) and we were not disappointed, absence may have made the tastebuds grow fonder, but compared to the takeaway we bought during Jaipur's closure from another Newbury establishment tonight's fare was vastly superior, in fact it might have been even better than before! God I had forgotten how good their pilau rice is, I could just eat a plate of this but that would have meant I would have missed out on a sublime chicken jalfrezi. Sadly this is one of the very few restaurants that disappointed us. The food was really tasteless and not very warm we asked for some kind of burner to keep the food hot, and the waiter just shrugged his shoulders and mumbled we don 't have any . The staff attitude was bad from the minute we arrived no welcoming smile... it was as though they were doing us a favour... and when we departed we were completely ignored as we walked out. No Thanks , or Goodbye what appalling courtesy. I expect better than that if someone wants me to hand over my hard earned money! This restaurant is well worth avoiding. And perhaps the staff here should realise how many alternative restaurants there are in Newbur...

Used to be so good. Ordered on Friday at 5.30 pm. was told 1 HR wait. Ok. After 2 hrs we phoned back to be told the driver was on the way, 45 mins later the food arrives. Cold. Very cold. Chicken Jalfrezi meat was not good quality, spongy in texture, like defrosted meat might taste. Saag Paneer was ok. Tarka Daal was very good. Lamb Bhuna was nice too. Poppadoms crispy. Peshwari Naan burnt. We were aware we'd have to wait an hour(reasonably for dinnertime) but almost 3 hrs is the longest we've ever waited.
