"I worked in catering for 45 yrs, Inc ' Fortnum Mason . . One of my friends is a chef. While the food was good , there was room for improvement , the rib eye was a little ropey and the salmon Ginger needed a little something extra on the plate the saute pots/ chips need some thinking about . Then there would be no contention over pricing . We did enjoy ourselves and I do know from experience what a tough career catering is . Having said what I have I would go back again , its just a bit of tweaking that is needed Lovely pub , very nice staff . All the best ."

"The worst Christmas lunch ever. Only 2 serving over 50 people. Sat down at 12.45pm starters didn’t arrive until 1.50pm. Sat waiting for main course for over an hour. When it arrived it was very disappointing, 1 small Yorkshire, 1 ball of stuffing, a piece of cauliflower, a few carrots, broccoli, 1 tiny piece of roast parsnip, turkey was dry. No gravy, had to ask 3 times before it arrived by that time lunch was cold and could only manage to eat a few mouthfuls. Forgot to mention 2 roast potatoes which were so hard l couldn’t get my teeth in them, 2 new potatoes. By this time everyone was getting fed up, 1 table got up and left. I had my mum in a wheelchair and there wasn’t anyway l could get her to the toilet without tables and people having to get up and move. I had informed them twice that my mum would be in a wheelchair. By this time we decided to leave, 4pm still no desertto get my mum out a family had to get up move there table and chairs for us to get out. I also witnessed a table complaining about the service and the Landlady was very rude, no apology given. When my husband told them we were not staying and the food and service was very poor, they knocked £40 off a bill of a £180 bill. It wasn’t even worth a fiver what we had. To say we were disappointed is an understatement.We are local people and have been to this place on many occasions but will never go in again and l’m sure there were others that felt the same.Thanks to them our family Christmas was ruined. My Christmas lunch at home consisted of a piece of cake and a sausage rolll would never recommend this pub, bad food, service and very rude peoplel did get a message from the landlord after putting a piece on Facebook apologising saying 3 staff had walked out. If they had told people perhaps people would have been understanding. If they treat their staff like they do their customers l’m not surprised they walked out"

"I have always enjoyed delicious, hot meals at this restaurant. It is a classic cafe with generous portions. They serve all day breakfast, including vegetarian options, as well as paninis, omelettes, chips, salads, and other simple dishes that are freshly cooked. The prices are very reasonable. This cafe is busy from mid-morning to late lunch, which is a sign of a good establishment. They are also willing to customize the menu to your liking. There is plenty of parking available nearby in Harleston."

"Following recommendation was really looking forward to this Mexican street food. Ordered 4 main meals and some chips. They were running a bit late so we had a 10 minute wait but that was ok. We only live 3 minutes away. On unwrapping the meals the vegetarian one was not included and instead 2 breakfast burritos. The chicken burger and the beef burrito were both really cold despite the tin foil. As we live so close we returned the meals and the chef said he would cook us new meals. 20 minutes later we did get a correct order but the food was still only tepid and could have been the original slightly warmed and rewrapped from the look of the foil. Taste was ok but nothing special and not worth £45 Really hope others have a better experience but I won’t be rushing back anytime soon. Still think this is a really good addition to Harleston and could be fantastic but sadly missed the mark tonight."
