"Nice building, covered outside terrace with wine overhead, cosy internal atmosphere. Mostly regional cuisine, local and own wines. That was the good part. No choice of beers at all, only wines, can be understood, and yet questioned. The majority of the wines are sweet to semi-sweet, making the choice difficult. We settled for a dry red wine and a Riesling, also dry. The dry red wine was, as to be expected, of the brighter colour as can be expected by a German red wine. The taste to be determined by the (fashionable) 'barrique' taste, alas, not. It wasn't 'wine', it was 'barrique'. The Riesling was a tad diffident, though fresh, and fitting to a summer evening. And yet not what you could expect from a Weingut, für close to 20 € per bottle. Both types with metal caps, no corks. We so happend to order 5 portions of goat camembert on home-made Mango chutney (no. 316 on the menu). What we were served was the goat camembert with 'homemade' (not sure if it was) tomato chutney from the blackboard.. We kindly asked the waitress, who jumped as us "This is what you ordered, 316!!". Any visual inspection would have confirmed the tomatoes. Never mind. With respect to the main courses, the most convincing was the seasonal Salat mit Pfifferlingen (chanterelles). The also seasonal Zander was said to be good, as well. The guests who had ordered their steaks 'English' and 'medium' got their plates mixed up, which was found out much too late, and only after both had commented to us that their meat wasn't exactly of the states as requested. Almost finished, we decided to leave everything as it was. Nobody came to offer deserts, and when they came, with a single menu, they didn't bother to ask about coffee (not mentioned on the card), so we had to call the waitress again to find out verbally about their choice of coffee. The seasonal parfait was recommendable. Likewise - as to be expected by now! - the difficulties to obtain a digestif. We settled on the one 'of the house' with the name of 'Jesuit'. It was relatively mild, that's okay, though of a deep yellow colour and some undefinable taste. Okay, I agree, I have no idea how a Jesuit is supposed to taste. For a Weingut, I had rather expected some pomace. Though I don't see how that could turn out yellowish.? I found it difficult to chose between 3 and 4 stars overall, but settled on three, considering the rather elevated level of prices."

Enjoyed some grest Organic and homemade food along on their cozy patio. Wines are excellent and come from the family's winery. Foot walking distance to town, ferry and Drachenfels. Would come here again.

We went in this place because I smelled the delicious food first, found where the smell was coming from & booked in! Also had some lovely wine with our meal, and the service was great. Highly recommended!

Outstanding selection of wines - both by the glass and by the bottle. Great menu - both regional and international specialties. Right across the street from the Maritim Hotel (where we were staying) and a much better choice than anything available in the hotel (in my opinion).

Came here on a recondition from our hotel owner. The food was great and well priced. Two courses, a large glass of wine and a large bottle of water - €43.Started off with a lovely pea and ham soup and followed it up with a massive bratwurst meal and spinach dumplings meal. All our meals were really good and very generous in size. Left feeling very full - couldn't even think about pudding which is very unlike me!

A lovely place for a meal. A good, diverse menu when compared to nearby restaurants (most only seemed to have 4-5 things on the menu, which is difficult when travelling with pickier eaters. They had English, German and (I think) Dutch menus, which was useful, although we still had to order in German, but that's easier with pointing when you know what you're ordering.Nice, smiling staff. Had a lovely evening, so thank you.

We come here regularly for a nice meal, with generous portions of good quality food (including organic meat where possible, otherwise from small butchers). And the wines are from their own vineyard, including Riesling of course, but also yellow muscatel and a great barrique aged red. You can just have a plate of sausage or cheese with a glass, but a proper meal is such a pleasure here. The friendly service also means you get to try more than one wine if you are up to it, and will inevitably find yourself buying a box or 2 to take home with you and happy memories....

The Jesuiter Hof is an attractive mediaeval building dating back to 1695. Just a few yards from the river frontage, a restful meal may be had outside, shielded from the heat and sun by an natural umbrella of cooling vines; on the rare occasion when the weather is inclement, meals are taken in one of the fine dining areas inside. The Jesuiter Hof also caters for B&B guests. The business is family run by the Piepers who help in the kitchen and serve the meals. The menu is quite extensive serving fresh food cooked to order. Daily specials are chalked up on large boards and many of the wines served come from their own vineyards locally. The wine which is low in acidity and very drinkable, may als...
