"I have known Joe Allen for a long time. Lately, the experience has dramatically changed. They used to have fun and nice staff, partly foreign students. Today, it looks like they are struggling to align 2 servers, one being the barman, running everywhere, trying to do their best but the result is a poor service. It is a pity to see that what succeeded to be a Parisian American institution is becoming a degraded bar. A big thank to the staff who tries to make it happen. A huge blame to whoever is responsible for that degraded situation (and that’s not the Covid-19!!!"

I like this restaurant very much, but today I would have liked fries a little more golden and a little less fade for the classic burger and chicken pilons (sauce to blue).

Coming alone, I ate on the counter and spent some time at the top with the bartender and waitress. The meal was very good, and the Moscow was well served; Joe Allen is a bit of a special spot for me in Paris, with a successful new yorkaise atmosphere. Decor and hair service obviously helps a lot!

I hadn't been to Joe Allen's in over 20 years and sadly, it hasn't change one iota! We went for Thanksgiving as I couldn't do a dinner at home. It was, of course, very busy with the service excessively slow. The turkey dinner was basic with thick, bland gravy and the pumpkin pie was far from exceptional. You'd probably find much better at a Friendly's or any diner in the US which is, of course, not possible over here! There are some French restaurants who do a Thanksgiving meal we will seek them out next time!
