"My experience here was just fine.Our waiter spoke passable English, the lack of an English menu was not a deterrent, and it was nice to sit outside as the sun sank lower. The food was good and plentiful--very good sweet potato fries. And, as hubby says, there is no bad beer in Germany. I did see that some of the other wait staff did not appear to speak English, so we got lucky. Right next to the Bach museum and Thomaskirche, hence the name. A good place to regroup after being immersed in the 17th century."

We had a bit of a language problem, but we could, more or less, understand the menu. Once we got passed ordering the food was nice (not amazing, but nice).

Meals and service was great !! I wish if they have not limited main courses. Wines were very good. Atmosphere , their helpful suggestions , everything was fine ????

Superclass on the first Christmas holiday in the family ate the service very accommodating, the poor children were looked after with a lot of understanding. We like to come back.

The ultimate convenience of having lunch or dinner right next to your concert is wonderful! No rush or fuss to make your seat on time and the food /menu here is high quality. Superb! Ver carta

If you like to be served by a rude waitress, this is the place. Unpolite, bad humored and not able to answer the most basic questions in english. Food just OK, lots of better places to eat in Leipzig.

If I can chose -10 (minus 10) starts will be better!!! The waiter with red hair speaks disgustingly. I am hoping that the owner of the restaurant, at the expense of the salary of the waiter, will send him to courses of politeness !

We visited the city leipzig for only 2 days but we dont have any idea about the food.And johann s rest.is the best thing we meet in the city. Best food very helpfull stuff and so. If you want to enjoy the city go to Johann S near the churc Ver carta

After a guided visit to the Thomas Church we went to have dinner to this restaurant. The place is really nice, the atmosphere also. The service was quite friendly and accepted to change our reservation with no problem at all.The food was really good and the size of the portions too.I would definitely go back :)

We were a huge party and it was extremely difficult to get tables for all on a Fridat night without any reservation. Yet, Johann Shad capacity to fit us all comfortably. The service was impeccable. The staff were patient and attentive. They even paid attention to our youngest guest who's nearly two and brought him a toy. The menu does not offer a huge variety but the food was prepared freshly with seasonal ingredients. It was very delicious too! The dining experience overall was relaxed and pleasant :)
