"We had made a reservation at The Wilderness a while back, but unfortunately our plans were disrupted by COVID. Finally, we were able to visit for lunch on Saturday, and it was definitely worth the wait. We chose the ten-course tasting menu along with a couple of glasses of their 'hacked' wines. As soon as we sat down, we were greeted with a complimentary glass of Prosecco and water, and our meal began. The variety of dishes was outstanding; from crispy pig cheek with apricot gel, to steak tartare, turbot, and mackerel. Standout dishes included a delicious beetroot ice-cream with a rich ajoblanco, and a fantastic mushroom and 'bread pudding' that was like a gourmet version of mushrooms on toast. The service was excellent, each course was tasty, and the wines, especially the Chardonnay 2.0 and the Vermouth, were top-notch. While the meal was on the pricier side, the quality of the food, service, ambiance, and music made it all worthwhile."

"The best peruvian restaurant in the UK! This is definitely the place to eat anything peruvian. The food here is not only authentic but is presented in an artistic way. Each dish is composed meticulously bringing different ingredients from the three main regions of Peru. Their cocktail menu is extensive and really well done. "Decent sushi, props to the chef. We had the sushi master selection for two people (28 pieces of assorted sushi, 2 miso soups and bottomless green tea) and some tuna sashimi at the end which came to £26 altogether which is a reasonable price for sushi from what I've seen. It's a small stall in the bullring fish market run by just the chef so it has an authentic feel and a nice atmosphere. I would recommend Otoro sushi however I suggest booking ahead as it is always busy."

"Came here on a Wednesday afternoon with my partner. Staff were really friendly and our food didn't take too long to come. We shared a two person mixed grill and it was incredibly good, really good selection of pork, sausages and chicken that all tasted amazing. "I visited Umami with my partner and daugher in june 2024. The atmosphere was terrible and uncomfortable. The management treatment of staff was appalling, we observed verbal abuse towards waiters, who appeared terrified. Our table was surrounded by 2 waiters for the entire evening, making us feel uncomfortable. The food was was bland, with one dish, the paneer overly sweet, we couldn't eat it. I'm an Indian women and know how indian food should taste like. What they served at Umami was tastless and not quality food. Don't bother asking for a cocktail, because they don't know how to make them. My daughter had previously eaten there and had a the same experience, but we thought that might have been a one off incident, clearly not. I will never eat there again and will tell everyone to avoid going there, because how there treat they staff, like dirt and the standard of the food was not that great. Over priced for poir food. I'll say away and go somewhere else.x I"
