"We waited a long time for the waitress to take our drink orders, and when we requested a wine menu, we were informed there wasn't one, but the waitress could remember the options. They didn't have any alcohol-free cider, so we settled for a fruit juice and two glasses of wine from memory. We ordered our food, two steaks and lamb. While the lamb was good, the steaks were not up to par, especially considering the price. When we asked for the dessert menu, there wasn't one, and we were once again reliant on the waitress's memory. We decided to skip dessert as we couldn't make a choice without seeing a physical menu. The waitress did her best working alone between the bar and restaurant, and she was friendly but inexperienced. In the past, we had great experiences with excellent food at this restaurant, but it has significantly declined. It's such a shame because it had the potential to be a go-to spot for casual meals and drinks, as well as special dining experiences. My husband had booked this for my birthday, and his disappointment was palpable. The owners need to improve their standards and bring this place back to its former glory by hiring experienced hospitality staff."

Awful food the chicken was cold and presentation terrible. We waited a while and was presented with an awful anaemic piece of cold chicken a bit of mash and beans. What has happened to this place ?

Excellent food. Great staff.well worth a visit. We had a lovely lunch in the farmers today. Food was great and well presented. Scott and Marseilles are the dream team behind the bar. Friendly and helpful and engaging. Highly recommended.

Apparently they have a new chef so we popped in Friday to check it out, another 4 people sat near us and were going to eat but two people sat at the bar were vaping, not great for a restaurant, the 4 people left and we didn’t eat either. What makes it worse is they appear to work there or are attached in some way to the pub. Don’t eat where they allow vaping inside.

I hadn't visited this restaurant in years since it was taken over and rebranded, but recently my friends and I have been frequenting it and have had a pleasant experience. The staff, particularly Sally and Dio, were efficient and friendly. The kitchen has improved recently, and we enjoyed a delicious meal last Friday. The Carbonara was especially delicious. My only suggestion would be to consider reducing the size and price of the starters/snacks. Also, I appreciate the new WiFi password 'JollysIsBack'! Ver carta

Meal booked for about eight people on a Thursday evening. From start to finish we were made to feel very welcome. Staff were so nice and extremely helpful. The environment is very pleasant and comfortable to dine in. We were in a side part from the main room which worked well. Food was absolutely divine and served in a timely manner. Very well presented and tasted wonderful. I can recommend the salmon. There was a good selection of herbal teas and coffees for after the meal. I really hope the staff behind the bar and the chef are rewarded and stay working here. It's really nice to see our local getting things so right.

This used to be the hub of the village but no longer a go to place for us. We love the wednesdayquiz nights and drinks with our friends but its ran by kids now, every time we go different young staff, the quiz recently was awful, the staffs mates happened to win they were all under 20 and were openly cheating on their phones they knew the answers to things they would have only known via google. We feel also that the food has gone down hill. When we questioned quiz results we were followed out by a group of teenagers staring us down. For 40 something adults this is no longer a place l wish to spend my money. The owners should address these problems.

we went father day and the cooks looked dirty in tshirts and jeans smoking and drinking most off the time in the beer garden ...all veg was very under cooked near on raw ...asked the waitress what ciders they had she said she didn't know and to go to the bar and look...then there was hardly any drinks to choose from as they had all ran out ...we were the only table in for fathers day which was shocking ...and would off thought the service would be fantastic but no they all stood round bar talking...also considering I said we had 2 young baby's with us when booking they didn't think to inform us they had no changing facilities...was a shambles and waste off £140 . We went for Sunday lunch and our reservation could not be found, but they were able to accommodate us with a table for four. Unfortunately, there was only one waitress who was serving at least 12 tables. It took a long time to place our drink order and food order at the same time. We were informed 5-10 minutes later that the wine we chose was out of stock, along with two other choices that were still on the menu. When we finally received the wine, we were told there were no wine glasses available. It was disappointing that a pub did not have enough wine glasses or wine. Our food arrived cold and we had to ask multiple times for gravy. It would have been helpful if they had informed us about...

I so wanted to like this pub but unfortunately it’s not one I will return too. We arrived for a reserved table and ignored by staff. After we were finally shown to our table, the waitress told us all the options that were no longer available, which was disappointing as the menu us fairly limited. When we asked what vegetables came with a particular meal the reply was “not sure” to which we replied any chance you could find out?. Our starters arrived 3 garlic mushrooms and I baked Brie. The bread with the cheese was dry and tasted out of date and EVERY plate had brown out of date salad in it. "I would love for this review to be a 5 but unfortunately, I am unable to do that. Upon booking the table over a week before our visit I was told that the table would be ours for the evening because we were a large group. We were asked to pay a £10 deposit per person this was absolutely fine and we all paid well in advance. The table was booked for a hen/birthday party so we were all looking forward to a nice meal before heading out for the rest of the night. Unfortunately though, this didn’t happen. I had originally booked the table for 7:30pm, however on the day of the booking it was obvious to us that getting there for that time was going to be a struggle so I rang the restaurant and ask if it was okay for us to arrive for 8pm instead. The woman on the phone said this was absolutely fine and actually thanked me for letting them know well in advance. We all arrived just after 8pm (11 of us in total and were seated quickly. This is where everything began to go downhill… it was at least 10 20 minutes before our drinks order was taken and then a further 20 minutes before the waitress took our food order. A couple of people in our party ordered 2 4 1 cocktails and after waiting a further 20 minutes after everyone else’s drinks arrived the waitress came to tell us that they were waiting for the ingredients as the cocktails were coming from the bar next door. So by this time it’s about 9pm and the cocktails still haven’t arrived. So we asked the waitress where the drinks were and shortly after the cocktails arrived We did complain about this and was told that because of the long wait, the price of the cocktails would be taken off of the bill. I don’t think this would’ve happened though if we hadn’t made a fuss about how long it took. That was just the start… Finally after around 75 minutes of waiting, our starters finally arrive which tasted lovely. We then waited a further 30 minutes before we had to ask where our mains were and the waitress went to check. It’s now 10pm and we’ve been in the restaurant 2 hours! The waitress comes back and says it’ll be another 10 minutes. We all then collectively decided that we were going to leave it as we’d already missed another reservation we had and we were on a Hen Do! We were meant to be having dinner and going on a night out we’d had enough! A few minutes later, the waitress comes out and tells us (conveniently our food was ready; But by this time we were fed up and had decided to leave. Shortly after we told the waitress, “sorry, no thank you, we’re fed up” the owner(? comes out from the kitchen and demands we stay to eat the food. We apologise and explain that we’ve been waiting over two hours and we have decided we want to leave and as we had previously explained to the waitress that we had other plans for the evening. The woman then starts shouting at us and accusing us of being over an hour late to our reservation and demands the waitress gets the order receipt to prove herself right! When we said that this doesn’t prove anything because the waitress took ages to even take our order and that I had called to tell them we wanted to move our reservation to 8pm, she then says that we hadn’t paid our deposit and we couldn’t leave! She then was just arguing with different members of our party until we all just got up and left. We wasn’t rude to anyone and we just wanted a nice meal that wasn’t going to take an entire evening to arrive. They knew it was a hen party and that we were planning to be out afterwards and they just took the mick. Throughout the two hours there, we were polite and respectful the restaurant was so deadly quiet I don’t think anyone wanted to disturb anyone. The atmosphere was completely dead and felt awkward. So we all left the restaurant, hungry, disappointed and annoyed at the treatment we had received. It ruined the beginning of a night we had planned for 9 months and it’s just not okay. To be honest, if they had apologised and treated us differently, we probably would’ve stayed and enjoyed the food. If the restaurant cannot handle large bookings, they shouldn’t accept them. The Lek Thai lost a lot of money that night."
