Kastaniengarten - Carta

Had some beers here as the sun was going down. The weather was great and the place was packed, so it had a great atmosphere! The walk up there is a little steep, but definitely a must-do in Freiburg!

we found this place randomly and we are so glad that we did. after a walk there they will be ready for a refreshing beer. the prospects were great. we enjoyed the beer and carving. we would definitely go back.

perhaps the best place for a beer in the city. great outsight! but: eating was really bad quality. oily escalope, poor taste, salad not freshly prepared, chemical taste for the fries and the sausages. please change that. Ver carta

If you want fantastic German beer and food, go to this place. Here they will serve you good beer for a good price, on Wednesday they do serve to beer for the price of one if you are a student .There is also a perfect...view from its tables. I really like this restaurant.

Visited this beer garden at the end of our first evening in Freiburg. It was cool and near closing time, so we almost had the place to ourselves. The beer was great and the view of the city as the sunlight died away was phenomenal!...I meant to go back but there was too much to see and do. Will definitely go again on future visits.

this is the best place in Freiburg to have a great view of the old city. it's actually a beirgarten. they order drinks and eat at the kiosk/bar and they get their drinks and if food order they leave a bee stick. they know they can pick her up. typical German almost food, sausage, carving, flamcake. it is a beautiful walk to the garden and as I said, they have a great view of the old and new free castle. atmosphere is beautiful and casual. On the way back down from Schlossberg to the Altstadt, we made a pit-stop at Kastaniengarten a beer garden at Greiffenegg-Schloessle, one of Freiburg's famous viewpoints. Order and pay for your drinks at the bar, and your food from the service counter, and bring them...back to your table. The menu features typical beer garden fare: pommes, sausages, salads, schnitzel and Flammkuchen (Tarte flambée). Nice place to chill out with a drink and enjoy a great view!
