"Visited yesterday at lunch time and will not be back. As we entered the restaurant, we were told to sit down at a table by a waiter, however as we went to sit down we noticed there was only one chair. A member of staff pointed out to the waiter that it only had one chair and we were left standing there for 5 minutes until a different member of staff asked us if we were okay to which I explained about the chair situation. We were given menus to look through and then waited a further 15 minutes before our order was taken despite several members of staff walking by. When ordering, we were surprised that the pie does not come with gravy and it is an extra £1.50?! We then waited a further ten minutes for a member of staff to come back and tell us that they did not have the drink we ordered so we then reordered something else. The wait for food was roughly 45-60 minutes which was absolutely ridiculous considering there was only about 5-8 tables in the whole restaurant. It was clear everyone was getting as fed up as we were as two tables around us asked how much longer they would have to wait for their food. When the food finally arrived, it arrived wrong . This place is seriously lacking in customer service skills and is pricey! £38 for two ciders, a tuna mayonnaise sandwich and a pie. Won’t return."

Very busy and no real distinction between bar, restaurant or hotel. A bit of a mess really. Ok for drinks but menu incredibly average.

This is a traditional pub with a restaurant had Cumberland sausage with mash and a onion gravy. The mash had mustered seeds in which over powered the dish and chef had gone over board.

Despite over comments service was good and helpful. Reasonable but limited seasoning. I think the bruschetta had merely been shown the garlic but main course pie excellent. Beer well kept Reasonable value

I opted for the Cumberland sausage ring with mustard mash and onion gravy at £17. Tiny portion of mash with the sausage ring on top, no veg included, that was an extra fiver!! My wife opted for the steak and ale pie, which to be fair was nice, but at £18.50 you’d hope so too… The veg was served separately in a tiny pot, the peas were practically like bullets…. Staff were friendly that served us but wouldn’t go back again, for too expensive for what you get. Ver carta

Kings Arms is a restaurant and a hotel.located in the center of Keswick, a town in Lakes District National Park, in the North of England. We came here to have dinner traditional food, but also modern English food. I choose whipped creamery goat's cheese with IPA beer paint as first dish, traditional beef Pai with a Gold paint as main dish and English pudding with Baileys as dessert. All very good and the place was very comfortable and the staff very friendly.

Looked like a great place, ambience lovely. No service, we literally had to stop a waiter to get drinks and order. Meal took 40 minutes to arrive, but we understood they were busy. Food arrived, we ordered the famous chicken bacon pie, so full off herbs I couldnt eat it, vegetables were frozen bag stuff that had been sitting in hot water for hours, I waited for a waiter to take away and was happy to order dessert but no one came, did mention on paying the meal was awful, just no response. Note: I am a fussy with food but also expect some quality when paying £50 for two meals and 2 cokes.

My visit to King's Arms in Keswick was nothing short of exceptional! The culinary experience was truly outstanding, with the slow-braised pork cheeks leaving me utterly delighted with their explosion of flavors. The impeccable service made me feel valued as a customer, enhancing the overall enjoyment. Opting to dine at the bar provided a perfect atmosphere that even welcomed our furry friend. Our friends who joined us also had a wonderful time. Personally, I savoured a perfectly cooked steak as my main course, adding to the culinary delight. Without a doubt, this dining experience earns a resounding 5-star rating! Ver carta

Usually a regular for us when in Keswick..every month, however since the refurbishment the poor staff having to dress like they are working in in The Ritz it's lost the ambience lovely atmosphere. A few others who were in at the same time agreed . Food prices ridiculous, same meal in pub of same brewery almost £5 cheaper We also went to the sports bar to the rear of the Kings Arms..Casas which is also ran by them. Lovely lad behind the bar, very helpful busy. However the manager from pub came in reprimanded him for sitting down nobody was at bar ! Same name as before refurbishment however seems like a different place altogether. Even the dogs weren't comfortable!

I visited for breakfast on a Sunday morning. They clearly have one standard for hotel guests and one for walks ins. Two different menus when I looked at the hotel guest menu it was taken from my hands. I also had to wait more than 30 minutes for my meal to arrive and only then after asking the waitress. Others around me who arrived much later were getting their meals in a timely fashion. The excuse I was given was they have a large group of hotel residents this morning. They obviously prioritize these guests over walk ins. If that is the case it should be advertised. As a result of complaining I did get a discount on my bill but it did not compensate for my plans for the day being delayed.

"I would have loved to rate our dining experience at the Ivy House a lot higher but we were to leave somewhat disappointed. The dining area was pleasant and intimate with well appointed decor, the waitress and waiters pleasant, polite and attentive. The varied menu looked very appetising with most tastes catered for. We chose two courses from the main menu, the Duck Breast and a Fish Dish for myself. Contrary to other reviews we were to wait over 40 minutes before the food was presented to us. We were not advised of any delays or even the expected length of time we might have to wait. The food on arrival was well presented and flavoursome although I did not consider two small stem broccoli spears a serving. I also asked the waiter why there was no Samphire to accompany my dish as stated on the menu, this comment was also reinforced by a fellow diner who ate the same dish just prior to me. The waiter advised me that he would ask the chef. I did not receive a response to my question during further table service and subsequently asked the waiter again. On returning the waiter advised me the chef said “he will try to remember to put it on next time”, a somewhat disrespectful comment. The Cheese platter we were presented with was lacklustre and sparse, quince jelly and a small dish of chutney being the predominant feature. For ourselves we did not feel that our dining experience represented good value for money."
