My order took 1 and a half hours to arrive. My starter was stone cold, my main was luke warm. They messed up my order for the main. Total waste of money Don't bother

This is not your ordinary run of the mill restaurant. the quality and freshness of the food is excellent.We have been at least half a dozen times now with differant family and friends, every single person has raved about the food .Last night was no exception,My nephew and his partner who live in the city joined us and said in future it will be their No one Indian to go to. We have been going to Kiplings for over 45 years and can honestly say its the best Indian food we have ever had. The service is also excellent.

One of the worst meals I’ve ever experienced . This is what happens when you change from a traditional Indian to a commercial outlet. Service was appalling from the moment we walked in being greeted by a child in a white shirt with no serving training, leaning over everyone whilst serving. After ordering our meals, it took an age for the starters to arrive and one didn’t even arrive until the others had finished. Onion bhaji were dry and flavourless. Once the starters were finished, had to attract the kids attention to clear the table. Change of owners, change of menu, change of decor. It's all gone ultra modern! The food was mostly excellent, and the presentation was beautiful and contemporary, rather than the traditional metal plates and bowls chucked on the table. One or two dishes needed a bit more oomph the cauliflour was somewhat watery, the fish bhuna could be more piquant and the sauce thicker. The lamb in half a pineapple was amazing, the onion bhajees were among the best I've had, and the liver starter was a surprise hit. Also great breads and a saag paneer with real subtle flavours and richness. The decor needs a little more colour, and they have crammed in way too many tables. As a result, it felt quite sterile...

Having lived in the area for 16 years, I’ve never taken the opportunity of sampling the cuisine in this restaurant as a dine in or takeaway. Since the end of June/ beginning of July I have ordered 3 takeaways from from Kipling and encountered issues on all 3 occasions. First off their website doesn’t advise that the restaurant doesn’t open on a Tuesday therefore you can’t place an order on line. Despite pointing this out several weeks ago it hasn’t been updated. 2 weeks ago I place a simply order to the value of £23 and waited 20 minutes to collect. When I arrived and asked about my take away, my question drew blanks and I was told all takeaways had been collected! What they actually didn’t...
