"A return to this restaurant in a beautiful but different setting than I've known almost 40 years ago for my daughter's baptism and her first birthday. But gustatively a real pleasure for taste buds with a justified and not excessive hearing for product quality. A very positive mention to staff for their kindness and professionalism. I highly recommend it and it is best to book a table before going there."

"We were travelling through Le Mans and stopped in the La Vieille Porte for dinner and what a meal it was. We were lucky enough to get a table by booking around 6:30 but if you can pre book it's advisable.The food is exquisite - typically French bistro style food and is delicious. The staff are friendly and between a bit of Franglais we managed to order. I had the Jambon au Sauce Poivre which if it is on should not be missed.The waiter suggested a lovely rose to accompany the meal which was great and suited our taste perfectly.Take your camera as the street where it is located is fantastic and looks great in picturesIf you're in Le Mans give it a go - you won't be disappointed!"

"A welcome as we rarely see, in the right sense, two women of kindness and regularly worrying about the well-being of the client and ensuring that quality suits us My rib... Perfectly cooked and a very tender meat... (I'm not a fan of vegetables, I asked not to have the accompaniments, so the plate photo made sober) The plates are copyy, elegant and tasty I find the correct prices also seen quality and service I recommend"

"The problem with a lot of French restaurants and brasseries is that they all serve essentially the same menu. I was looking for an alternative to salmon, veal or beef (in sauce) or duck (that isn't a pizza)! Tripadvisor came to the rescue along wirh all the helpful reviews of this restaurant. What a little gem! I had a really enjoyable meal here in a very colourful setting. The hostess spoke some Englsh, which was helpful, although the menu is largely translated too. The food was tasty, service good and prices reasonable. Highly recommended and if I come to Le Mans again it will be on my list to visit."

"3 weeks on holiday in the caravan in the Dordogne and a little overnight stop in Le Mans, Yvre L'Eveque campsite, on the way back to Calais. We decided we would see if we could find a nice restaurant after the long drive. Le Boeuf Tient Le Pave certainly did not disappoint. The warmth of the welcome and the smiles of the excellent service team throughout the evening was exceptional (I wish we could say it was characteristic of all the restaurants we had been to this holiday - Sarlat restaurants take note).The menu itself did not offer a great deal of choice but the food was absolutely superb and at 21E was really excellent value. It has a great wine list which is also very reasonable. They make a great pre-dinner G+T by the way. Thoroughly recommended."
