"Just a killing. During the weekend in Le Mans we chose this restaurant based on the reviews and ratings. And honestly... we haven't enjoyed ourselves like this in ages. All. Absolutely everything was delicious. There were 6 of us, each with different dishes and everything was excellent. The mash is delicious, the pork cheeks with mushrooms, the beef steak!!! I'm not a meat lover but these layers of beef superimposed to form a pavement topped with homemade sauce... Rahlala. If we had to come back it would just be to eat in this place again. The service at the top, the owners... but just adorable and attentive as ever with children and parents. Really, 10/10 don't change anything. Please move to Vendée!! Looking forward to coming back"

"We were travelling through Le Mans and stopped in the La Vieille Porte for dinner and what a meal it was. We were lucky enough to get a table by booking around 6:30 but if you can pre book it's advisable.The food is exquisite - typically French bistro style food and is delicious. The staff are friendly and between a bit of Franglais we managed to order. I had the Jambon au Sauce Poivre which if it is on should not be missed.The waiter suggested a lovely rose to accompany the meal which was great and suited our taste perfectly.Take your camera as the street where it is located is fantastic and looks great in picturesIf you're in Le Mans give it a go - you won't be disappointed!"

"L'endroit est en effet de type bistrot classique, rien de spécial mais correct. Très bien reçu par un serveur poli qui fait son taf. Je me suis laissé séduire par le menu du jour, et c'est là que ça a mal tourné. Entrée feuilleté : je ne comprends pas qu'on puisse servir une pâte ultra sèche, qui bien qu'accompagnée d'un peu de sauce insipide, et d'une viande en fibre qui était clairement une manière de se débarrasser des restes. Dur à faire descendre, très sec, nullissime. Heureusement que j'étais seul car j'aurais eu honte. Plat blanquette marinière : correctement présentée avec quelques fruits de mer et légumes coupés en tranche. Heureusement le pain a servi de féculent. Aucun goût, totalement insipide. Première et dernière fois. Même si vous êtes à l'hôtel d'à côté ou d'en face, prenez la voiture et allez ailleurs. Il y a d'autres options de qualité décente pas loin."

"I think this restaurant was a good address, but it was on its laurels and declined. the frame is bad: past colors, tiles on the ground, toilets. on the food side, quality leaves to be desired (bad quality beef, nervous) and quantities are limited. a lot of salad at the end and a lot of junk. I don't want to be too negative about what I had a better memory and the tenors are beautiful."

"3 weeks on holiday in the caravan in the Dordogne and a little overnight stop in Le Mans, Yvre L'Eveque campsite, on the way back to Calais. We decided we would see if we could find a nice restaurant after the long drive. Le Boeuf Tient Le Pave certainly did not disappoint. The warmth of the welcome and the smiles of the excellent service team throughout the evening was exceptional (I wish we could say it was characteristic of all the restaurants we had been to this holiday - Sarlat restaurants take note).The menu itself did not offer a great deal of choice but the food was absolutely superb and at 21E was really excellent value. It has a great wine list which is also very reasonable. They make a great pre-dinner G+T by the way. Thoroughly recommended."
