"3.5 stars. Multiple sources raved about La Casina Rosa, so we made it a must-go during our Dresden trip. Without reservations, we knew to go later in the evening ~9 PM), and luckily, we were able to get a table from a no-show. La Casina Rosa is a small place, no more than 10 or so tables. The ambience was comfortable and intimate, and with the wall painting of what looked like Tuscany, one could imagine having a decent Italian meal. The server was friendly but slow in attending us. We ordered a house salad, Pizza Casina Rosa tomato, mozzarella, spinach, garlic, and parmesan), and Tagliatelle alla Molisana lamb, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, and rosemary). The food was nothing out of the ordinary, but it was delicious. I love the combination of Molisana. The unfortunate mishap came when our server completely forgot our salad. We could have forgone the salad, yet we still asked for it when our entrees came. Instead of bringing the salad during our meal, the server brought it after we finished our dishes. It was literally having salad as dessert. That was a first for me. After the salad, the server didn 't come back to check on us for anything else, so after some time, we forwent the actual dessert, paid our bill, and left. Perhaps this place is overhyped or we just had an unusual experience."

Durchschnittliche Qualität zu leicht überhöten Preisen. Offensichtlich hat sich das auch rumgesprochen, denn das Touristenpaar war fast allein im Restaurant

An original italian restaurant , pasta was really not al dente and sauce was not good at all, I expected more the italian flavor , it was just tomato sauce like canned with a so little amount of albahaca, not so good service , not good quality,

Arrivati tardi per cena a causa di ritardo aereo ci hanno accolto ugualmente con simpatia e gentilezza cucinando delle ottime pizze tipicamente italiane.Prezzi modici e personale molto cortese.Sala con gazebo particolarmente carina. Locale pulito.

Small, very informal, ordinary Italian (Sicilian) restaurant. The menu is extensive. Most of the dishes are seafood. Service wise, I think it is average. They do have the goodwill but not very organized. Prices are very reasonable and they carry good choices of Italian wines.

We ordered the 4 cheese pizza and pasta tagliatele which were both good. The pasta was with meat that was too cooked and the dish was pretty small but still really nice. Prices aren't too high and the restaurant was completelly full. We would recommend especially because it is outside of the touristic area and just nice to feel you eat like a local. Service was nice..no English though

I've been to a lot of Italian places and this one was average at best. Food was OK but nothing extraordinary. We were four so ordered a salad to share plus 4 individual pasta dishes. Lasagna was really nice and tasty, but everything else was just normal (as the pasta I would cook at home). Wine selection is nice though and it is very convenient to have the option to get 1/2 L bottle rather than a full one. Place itself is cozy though service could be improved.

"I stayed at the hotel in which this restaurant is situated, it is on the 5th floor, and I passed it a couple of times but it was always empty. One reason, I think, is that the menu is rather obscure, with slashes between the dish description as inscallop/saffron/guava/back puddingA little off- putting, I felt. However, as a lone diner, I was getting pretty fed up of waiting for bad food each evening, although in a beautiful setting, Dresden's main square and its surrounds. So on my last night I treated myself and got a table on the roof terrace. The waitress was very helpful and friendly, and produced a good selection of bread. It's clear there are 5 courses, an appetiser, a hot starter, a soup course, a main and dessert. I didn't want the soup. This wasn't a problem. To start, I had quail's egg/chick/gorgonzola/rocket, but it was so much more than that! It had a delicious fried bread cube, a gorgonzola sorbet, and crumbled herbs to garnish. It was, superb. But the description is selling itself short! The hot starter was also good, scallops in a saffron sauce, with a black pudding jelly. The "guava" ends up on the dish as a smear, nothing more. My main was beef/capers/sour cherries/ smoked aubergine, but again, more- a delicious sauce, and perfect mash- a small amount, but perfect....There are 3 dessert options, I enjoyed a nougat with gold leaf. In all, the food was beautifully presented, and the best food in Dresden so far, on a par, that is, with Kallemeiers where you have to book a table. This place deserves the same popularity but is selling itself short with the odd menu descriptions. It scares people off, like myself. I urge you to go and try for yourself. There's a great evening to be had, in a stunning setting."
